Had a good week last week, so I took the back end off not to push my luck,
Only two on the board today,
Game one I'm liking Detroit to win at home over Dallas,-145,2 units,Detroit has had a bad stretch losing 5 in a row 3 in OT/SO. Detroit usually plays Dallas tough and there will be extra motivation not to fall too far back behind Nashville. Detroit really needs this game as they play at tough Minnesota and then at home to a really good SJ team running the risk of losing 8 in a row if they don't get things turned around in a hurry. Dallas has been struggling on defense lately giving up 3+ goals in 5 of their last 6 games. Turco has struggled in his carreer at Detroit as has Dallas and this is just one of those things that can't be explained. So I look for Detroit to take one here and end their slide.
Game two,I'll take NJ to win in LA,-160,2 units, Jersey doesn't want a long plane ride home to stew in a 4 game losing streak and 1-4 road trip, I think they come out desperate for a win and Brodeur will be on top of his game to salvage the last game of their western road trip. They need this game to get back to the top of their division, while LA will continue to struggle with their identity. Are they an offensive style or defensive style team? Every time they have a good defensive game they give up 5 or 6 the next time out. Crawford keeps going to Cloutier who's days may be numbered as a starter in the NHL. LA scored 2 PP goals on Calgary who is a weak road team to get a win the last time out but NJ who is more diciplined and have a stronger PK won't give them such oppertunities. I look to NJ to put this away with a srong defensive game.
