You know I love ya birds, but I think that's a ridiculous train of thought. Once they take the field, Bo Schembechler means nothing with regard to the game. Maybe if it were at home and the crowd was nuts and chanting "BO" or something, but not in the 'Shoe. It's almost like people are playing God by saying that and IMHO I don't think his passing makes a bit of difference in how these teams play.

GL!

Cuse,

I respect your opinion, but I respectfully disagree. Let me start with: I liked Mich before the death. But, I believe Bo gave a pep talk earlier in the week to the team. He is dead now. If you have ever experienced something like this you (the player) want to do all you can "out of respect" of the dead person. Further, The practice facility is named after Bo and his presence is throughout the football "arenas" in Michigan Facilities. I don't think this makes them win or cover. But I do think it adds an extra dimension to the game and the psychy of the Michigan players (sp?).

Cuse I liked Michigan to win this game for weeks. I did not mean that is why they will win, but after they win the win will go to Bo:thumbs:

That's cool, Horfy. People can disagree, even two great Titan fans such as ourselves, haha.

I just don't see the parallel between wanting to win for Bo (which obviously they do), and having it positively affect their physical performance on the field. Wanting to win for Bo is not going to help Leon Hall run down Teddy Ginn Jr in the open field. Wanting to win for Bo is not going to help LaMarr Woodley corralle Troy Smith before he escapes the pocket with his athleticism. Wanting to win for Bo is not going to helpd Steve "Stone Hands" Breaston actually catch the ball instead of dropping it.

Again, I absolutely IN NO WAY mean any disrespect to Bo Schembechler or the Michigan family who loved him dearly, but I don't see the correlation to physical performance once the game starts and his passing.

birds- That's good then if you liked them all along. I've heard some people taking them simply becuase of the death (and that's silly). If you liked them all week, good for you. Hope it hits for you!

I don't think that is ridiculous at all. These kids are human. Emotion and state of mind can play a big part in the game. Its like if I faced off in a fight in the middle of the yard, my state of mind would be different if you had me backed into a corner. You back me into a corner and I'm going all out to come out of that corner. I will bet you that these kids motivation for the game is 50-50 to beat OHST for sole place of first and for the gipper. Its going to be in everyone of Mich players mind and there's nothing they can do to get it out of their head. Will they win it for the gipper, who knows.

But is 7 pts too much to give to another in this situation of #1 and #2 teams leaving out the gipper theory. I think so. I might just play Mich on that alone.

and one who will watch maybe a quarter of this game, I am going with Ohio State at home...

As for the psychology of loss, everyone deals with it differently.some people are inspired, some, however, are deflated (realizing the ultimate triviality of a football game when compared with larger issues of life). That it will be a factor is these players' lives (and performances) there is no doubt;whether it is positive or negative is open. GL guys.

That is one factor for me. You'd think a 1 vs 2 is a 0, 1, 2, 3 point line....not seven.

To clarify my point....I think the death adds value to the play.

ORIGINALLY POSTED BY CUSE: I've heard some people taking them simply becuase of the death (and that's silly).

Agreed.

Why can't Ohio State fans talk about their team without spelling the state's name in big red letters? Good job, you can spell your state's 4 letter name, we get it, haha....

Cuse, I went to the OSU/PSU game in Columbus and trust me, if you don't like people typing it you would HATE being in the Shoe for more than 30 seconds. :beer2:

And at Sportsbook the money is starting to even out with late cash coming in on OSU. Hope that's a good sign for me.:yeah:

OHST was the better team. Mich gave their all to keep it close. Definitly the two best teams out there. I give credit to Mich for putting up a better fight than most. OHST could have run away with it against any other team. 7 was just to much IMO.

I agree with all that. Bring on whoever in the title game. The Big Ten is NOT overrated. I really don't like the idea of a rematch but I wouldn't be against Michigan getting there.lol

Still think I had the right side here, outside of the bounce pass to Massey, the PI called by the ref not even near the play, and the 2 "fumbles'(it's in quotes for a reason folks) by Dokish.

Oh well, good job to those on Michigan, and can't wait to see USC blow up OSU in the title.
