NCAA YTD: 11-8 +7 units
1. Lousville vs. Rutgers +6.5
Pick: Louisville -6.5 20 units
Last season Louisville crushed Rutgers 56-5. Even though I don't expect that much of a lopsided score here, I look for Louisville to dominate and come away with the double digit win tonight. First defensively I look for the Cardinals to shutdown the one dimensional Rutgers attack. With 8 men in the box Louisville will contain running back Raymel Rice and force quarterback Mike Teal to try and beat them through the air. This will definitely not happen as Teal is not a good quarterback and is prone to throw the big interception. Plus once Rutgers falls behind here and is forced to pass and play catch up this game will be history. Offensively I look for Louisville to move the ball on the Rutgers defense. I see Louisville easily moving the ball on the ground as Rutgers had problems stopping Connecticut last week allowing the Huskies to gain 188 rushing yards. With the ground game working Brohm will have field day against a Rutgers secondary that won't know what's coming next, and he will destroy them with the play action pass. With Louisville dominating on both sides of the line of scrimmage this game won't be close.
