Mostly a gut play, and I really hate going against some of you here, but

Rutgers +6 (+100) (5 units)

Should have waited this one out for the hook, but something about this game makes me like getting even money.

GLTA and enjoy the evening. Should be a fun game to watch.

Hey, what's the general feeling (not the fan's we know how they feel) of M administration etc. on Glen Mason.....has he gotten a vote of confidence...or no confidence?

Damn Lou Holtz! Another couple years and....well...I can't talk about it....

I used to have a better feel for that that when I knew some people that were grad students that worked up there, but they've all moved on. I doubt much has changed.

My perception is that Maturi will not make a move before the new stadium opens. Although there is some rumblings from some alumni, it's not enough in Minnesota, yet. More heat will definately need to come from the alumni associations. The administration--and I'm not kidding here--could care less about athletics. That's why we haven't sniffed a National Championship in 46 years (in football, anyway. Hockey program is pretty solid. Men's BB hasn't had much success since '97, and that year "never happened" in the anuls of NCAAB history due to Gangelhoff-gate). He's not overly well-liked by anyone, and his annual rebuilding excuse, I believe, has finally wore on people close to the program, especially to some in the AD office. He's probably safe for a couple of years, yet.

I think Mason has convinced many that they are lucky to have him at the little UofM, and no coach of his calibur would even remotely entertain coaching here. I will admit it's better than the Jim Wacker regime (God rest his soul), and I'm hoping it will turn around once we get out of that dump of a stadium we currently call "home" and get a nice facility on campus. We'll probably never be able to compete with a Ohio St. or Michigan, but we might be able to steal a couple blue chips now and again that want to be "The Man" and not "A Man" on campus....

Anyway, that's just MHO....GL
