View Full Version : somebody explain nmsu +11.5 to me...

i put 2 units on this game on monday. and ive looked at it all week. i dont get it. i know nmsu hasnt beaten a d-1 team in the last 20 tries. i know they have the worst pass d in the league. but i also know fresno has 1 win, and is hardly playing like a d-1 school this year. both teams give up 34 pts a game, and fresno averages 20 pts scored, while nmsu puts up 30 per game. this is a huge line at 11.5, and this game almost looks like a pk to me. i have 2 units on nmsu and the points and im thinking 2 more on the moneyline at +425. thoughts?

NMSU has a shitty defense and they are a turnover machine. I live in New Mexico and follow the Lobos and the Aggies. The Aggies find ways to lose games. They ran all over the Lobos but fumbeled 5 times losing four and added an interception. Against Hawaii they fumbled three times, lost two and added an interception. Nevada three fumbles, lost two with three interceptions.

They have a great offense and I like the points, but I wouldn't trust them to win the game outright. That being said, with my record they probably win by 30.

thanks for the local insight... i LOVE the points and like the moneyline... im thinking a small moneyline parlay of nmsu and miami is a risk worth taking

Good Luck Buddy - I really think they have it in them to beat Fresno State but like I said they break alot hearts around here.

NMSU is one of those teams that is right there most of the time against superior teams, but never can get over the hump and win. Eastern Michigan is a similar team. Whereas NMSU's defense fails, them, EMU's offense fails them.

That being said, you know I LOVE the Aggies here. Very well could be a SU win, but I'm comfortable just taking the DD points.

If they can hold their turnovers down to zero or even one they'll be in the ball game.
