I was just having a debate with someone on another forum and was curious to see what you guys thought. Persay I bet 110 to win 100, and the game pushed. I would still have to pay my local the 10 dollar juice on the game. Do you guys have to pay the juice to your locals in the instance of a push ?

No Fucking Way!!!! Someone is screwing someone!!! A push means no action...... meaning the book returns the wagers made on both sides of the wagered on team.

:gulp:

What I think its come down to, is it is different in all locations. A lot of people from New York said their locals make you pay the juice on a push, and I know here in Pittsburgh I know 3 books and they all make you pay the Juice on a push.. i was jus curious. I know online is different as well, I just jus curious as how your local did things

Alot of locals do this.

Id go online or find another book if your having to pay on a push cause that means you have to hit a much higher winner percentage to break even.

The standard breakeven is 52.4

locals can do what they want, they do not have the overhead of the online books, and most do not need any more business. I have heard of locals to even call a tie a loss...

bet online...

My local used to take my money if I pushed on a total. I told him I was gone if he kept that up. He said he waves that once a customer has been with him a while and calls it a push, but never pay juice on a push. He counts a push in a teaser a loss though. It's like Homedawg says he can do what he wants.

Hi all!
I'm new to all this, could someone please explain to me this 'Juice and Push' concept?

All my teasers are -120 and have been whether I've been here in NJ or in DC back when I was in college. 6 points for a two teamer and 10 points for a 3 teamer and always -120. Any "push" on a tease is a loss aswell. (Basketball is 4 and 7).

I pay no juice on teasers and parlays. But parlays only pay 2.4 to 1.

That's an awesome deal (no one pays juice on parlays anywhere I hope). Your guy gives you points for teasers and you get the line at +100? That's unbelievable, nice job by tha tguy!

Actually I've been betting online more and more. Its hard to get away from the convienence of betting with a local though. Once you get into the hang of betting online though its all good. You get betters odds and better rates online usually anyways.

Online wagering is much more convenient for me....you can make a play before line moves, not to mention moneyline plays:yeah:

5 on ov/un

2 team teasers can push
1 winner and 1 push is a push

but

3 teamers and 4 teamers are 10pts and 13pts respectively and any push is a loss

You are paying juice at that price!!! Parlays should be paid out at 2.6:1 and that standard is slightly more Juice than two str8 wagers made at -110 a piece.

Juice is when you squeeze the Orange..........

Push is when your wife is looking over the edge of the Grand Canyon.

I love newbies even more than vets who still think paying juice is when you lose!!!!
