I like them for about 3 or so ... 34-31 something like that
I have a small bet on WV +2 and will place a larger one on the ML once it is open on my book. I can see the line moving to a 1 or PK by kick off.
U of L is soild, expecally at Papa John's but this game is for a shot at the nat championship for WV and they will be PUMPED big time :yeah:
im betting on whomever the public is on

alot of talk has gone on WVU needing this win to make it to the BCS championship but keep in mind louisville could make it to the title game if they win out....im a Xeers fan so i think im gonna sit with my bet on WVU to win the BCS champ at 10/1 and root for my boys.

I think Lou lays the wood to them WV will not be able to run all game long and that will hurt them also WV pass defense is real bad and Lou should be able to move the ball. Also the game is in Lou GL with your plays
89% of the pubic on WV
*cough*

in the beginning of the year i got Louey at 38-1... so i'm sittin on that.. i was upset that they lost Bush the first game of the year.. but it's plausible for them to get there.. here at RU we're going nuts for 11/9... should be an amazing game.. so i'm def pullin for Louey on Thurs.. i think it's going to be high scoring.. crazy exciting game

This game boils down to Louisville's success running the ball and WVU's ability to defend the pass. Louisville passed for 227 in last year's matchup, average 280ypg this year and average 216ypg on the ground, but the 'Eers Defense only allows 89.3ypg rushing. Both have great run D's, with the Cards D giving up 74.9ypg on the ground.....they must force WVU to throw and they only average 140ypg passing. Pass D wise, WVU has given up 182 to ECU, 250 to Missy State, and ECU 276, but they also held those oppoents and Syracuse to less than 100 yards on the ground...UConn 95, Cuse 81, Missy St. 81 & ECU 41. Conversely the Cards allowed just 19 yards rushing to Cuse, 83 to MTSU, and 64 to Miami,FL. SOS belongs to Louey ranked 70th while WVU is at 89th, but the points are really close. Neither has played a top 10 or top 30 team...so this is their first top flight meeting and it's against one another. Look for penalties to also be a factor as WVU the most penalized team on offense in the country (119th) averaging 7.7 penalities per game for 80.29 yards and on defense are penalized at least 6 times per game for 61.5 yards.....that's nearly 142 yards per game of field postion to their oppoments......OUCH!

great point about the penalties Joepa that could hurt them in a game like this

I for some reason don't have any public numbers for this game yet....but I like Louisville at first glance.
Big game for both teams, but I like the spot Louisville is in here....ranked lower and a dog....a spot they haven't been in for a while in a conference game, while all the pressure is on WVU to live up to their ranking and the hype they're receiving.
Plus L'vll has been here before, as they've been having big winning seasons for years now, and it may all be a bit new for WVU, as no one has really expected them to win big games until this one....since they haven't really had any big games this year, and they played the underdog role in their last big game against UGA and weren't expected to win that one.
I also like that WVU takes penalties out the ass. That might be ok against Connecticut, East Carolina and Marshall, but if they don't get that ironed out, it's gonna burn em against a team the caliber of L'vll.
I think this game comes down to penalties and turnovers. Whoever commits the most will lose.
all year I like the home team on Thursday Night, will see.:dunno:

I got Louisville at -1.5....they are the more balanced team....they can run AND pass....plus their team speed on defense is excellent...They will force WV to hafta throw more than they will want. I feel Louisville wins -- and rather handily...

IMO WV loses this week. Louisville the more balanced team & @ home. Brohm shoul have success connecting with those big wrs, Stripling & Smith have stepped up big time...but damn it's tough to bet against good teams. Louisville's D is better IMO, & they will have to show it to get the W. looks to be a great game to watch:gulp:

I'm on Louisville -1.5.
WV pass defense is crap, Cardinals should be able to move the ball and score through the air.
I think Louisville run d slows WV down just enough to get a 3 point win.
And I don't like WV and their penalties.
Should be a fun game to watch.
Cheers.

Rodriguez has himself one hell of an offensive line to power this running game and Slaton and Pat White are super athletes.
I can't get passed the fact that this same offense went to THE SUGAR BOWL and executed their game plan to perfection IN A HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT in what was basically a home game for GEORGIA...
Another thing : That defense they run in WEST VIRGINIA is hard to game plan against .... They have guys roaming around in that secondary in spots you would never imagine them to be in... That 3-3-5 defense is very unorthodox and WVU plays it to perfection...They have great athletes playing the "spur" and "bandit" (hybrids between lb's and safeties) spots. Guys who excel against the pass, but can also stick their nose in the run game and make plays upfront.
Louisville is very good, but i think West Virginia is better equipped with the personell and schemes to win this HUGE GAME .. good luck to whatever everybody plays

Something to consider about WVU vs UGA last year...
Did UGA even want to be in that bowl game? They certainly had their sights set higher than playing WVU in the Sugar bowl, and when that's what they got, did they even show up?
Not saying it wasn't an impressive with for WVU. I'm just saying, did they face UGA's best effort?
I personally think Louie is going to run away with this game by double digits.
BTW, there are 81% on WVU as of right now. Give or take a few percentage points depending where you look and who you ask, but sports insights is the most accurate count you're going to get, since their numbers combine the results from a bunch of books...not just one like you get if you look at the numbers from sportsbook dot com, or like the consensus numbers you would get from wagertrash or some of those other sites like that.
Joe Q Couch Potato doesn't register his vote at a place like wagertrash....and using their numbers for a true public consensus just isn't accurate.
stiffler's mom is hot....
im in full agreement regarding the double digit victory

I like WV tonight ...already posted that ..here is a good write up I stole from another site ..haha
West Virginia +1.5 @ Louisville - These teams are very evenly matched as you can tell by the line. West Virginia won last year's matchup 46-44 in 3 OT's! West Virginia relies mainly on a stellar ground game with Steve Slaton being the workhorse with 151 carries for 1059 yds and 9 TD's with a healthy 7 ypc average. He's a threat to break one at any time. As a team they've rushed for over 2200 yds and 28 TD's! Louisville has a much more balanced offense with 1512 yds rushing and 1961 yds passing. Since Bush got hurt the rushing game has been by committee with the primary burden split between Kolby Smith (451 yds, 6 TD's) and George Stripling (355 yds, 5 TD's) and they can both catch the ball out of the backfield. The favorite targets in the passing game are Harry Douglas (35 receptions for 520 yds) and Mario Urrutia (27 for 520 yds). Even though you think of Louisville as a passing team the bulk of their TD's have been via the ground with 24 and only 9 through the air. Both teams are pretty stingy on defense as far as points allowed and both are probably tighter against the run than the pass. The Mountaineers have twice the INT's with 10 as well as a better TO ratio with a +6 compared to Louisvilles's -4. The kicking game is pretty even as far as FG's and PAT's. Louisville is playing at home of course where they are undefeated since late 2003, but none of those opponents compare to this one. I think the difference in this game will be at QB with the edge going to West Virginia's Pat White because of his mobilty and running ability. I mentioned that Slaton was the workhorse with over 1000 yds rushing but White is in second by a landslide with 73 carries for 619 yds and 9 TD's and a healthy 8.5 yard average! He, like Slaton, can break one at any time. In comparison, Brohm and Cantwell have combined for 15 carries for -30 yds and 0 TD's! And even though White doesn't pass nearly as often, when he does he's accurate with a 68.8% completion rate. The Mountaneers get the outright win.

this is a huge revenge game for Louisville. After giving up a huge lead last year they get the chance to avenge that loss. at home on thursday night football i expect louisville to be ready to play with a scheme to move all over the neers. dont forget that for most of the game last year louisville dominated the mountaineers only to fall apart once slaton came into the game. they should be more prepared for slaton tonight and should adjust well with such a speedy defense. 2 great teams but i think that louisville pulls out the victory tonight
Wagerline is currently showing 60% on W. Virgina
