Gonna play one tonight...
PHOENIX COYOTES vs. CALGARY FLAMES
This certainly going to be an interesting game. Both teams are off to pretty miserable stars... neither team can score as they rank near the bottom in goal scoring with a mere 3 goals seperating the two.
Calgary is simpily terrible on the power play so far and they are playing a Phoenix team ranks as the highest team in penalties a game along with a horrible PK. So I don't think there is too much of a threat there at all. Calgary has also had 4 days rest since their last loss in Boston, so they might be a little sloppy.
Phoenix also has a pretty horrid PP, PK, GF, GA... you name it, their last, or close to last in a number of these catagories... They came off a 5-2 loss to the Oilers last night in which Cujo let in at least 3 pretty soft goals... but Morrison will be in net tonight which isn't exactly a good thing since he was pulled in the frist period last time out.
When it comes down to it, this probably might not be the best game to play, but I just can't pass up Phoenix at +241 when these teams are both struggling... Neither team stands out IMO, so why not take a risk and pick the dog at that value?!
Another interesting tidbit, take this for what it's worth...
Pinnacle has Phoenix listed at -113 on GL+1.5... This has happened twice so far this season that I have counted.
-Toronto on the GL +1.5 was under -115 against Ottawa the second game of the season, and they won 6-0
-NYI on the GL +1.5 was under -115 against Anaheim and won the game 5-4
So take that for what it's worth... I think the Coyotes are worth a small risk tonight for that value...
