Has anyone thought of the possibility of WVU resting their good players during the 2nd half? I know they have the bye week but still...they will want to be fully healthy and ready to go for the Louisville game.

In my opinion they have a lot of voters watching tonight that includes Heisman voters.....I dont see them resting any players maybe in the 4th quarter....The huskies have an ok passing attack which will give WV some great practice for the fierce Cardinals passing game.....I am sure there coach watched what happened when the Colts rested there players last year.....Plus what if a 25-10 game rather than a 52-10 game is the diffrence in WV jumping say a 1 loss Michigan or Ohio State to play in the National Championship.......

I'm on the 1st half as well...i was just thinking that maybe if they are up by 28 or 30 late in the 3rd or early in the 4th they will rest some guys.
40-17 WVU
too close to the spread for comfort

I personally try and think of all the possibilities, with this being one of them and this is probable, but it wont happen until the 4th quarter as they need to impress if they want a shot at the prize. I would be more concerned with Uconn's siv of a run D against 2 of the premier runners in DI, as well as the plethora of injuries on both sides of the ball Uconn, has I will take WVA's 2nd 3rd and 4th team against the same on Uconn, the possibility that should be more concerning when capping this game is WVA has not beaten ahhhhhhh Bull shit!. Go Mtxers!!!!!:yeah: :gulp:

i dont see this uconn team with all the injuries being any better than marshall eatern washington or miss state, syracuse would roll this team. its hard to bet against white and slaton and hope they dont run for 300 yards, cause it never happens
go WVU

I doubt they will rest many of their big players, if any at all. They do have something to prove. The big east is going to have a big weekend. The media disregards this conference and WVU, Louisville, Pitt, and Rutgers all are out to prove something. WVU huge tonight...52-7.

I read that the weather for this game is suppossed to be very windy. Up to 30 mph gusts. It's hard to pass in that kind of weather

Im pretty sure the WVU coaches know that both the poll rankings and BCS rankings will be effected by the margin of victory against a shitty team like UCONN and that will probably seriously factor into their decisions on how long to play the starters and how aggressive to play this game.

24 seem to be the magic number....so maybe by game time it's Uconn +24.5 and hope WVU win by 24. lol.

I am not statin' that the ml on uconn is a good bet, I just dont see the total going over 47-48 tonight, and If uconn can score around 14, then the homedawg covers...
:gulp:
i may fade it altogether...
all signs point to a disaster but if they're resting for louis, i dont know what will happen...
they'll have an extra day to prepare though...
hmm...
we'll see

Considering you already have a weak schedule if this is a 10 point win and other teams behind them show up they could drop in the BCS standings on Monday....Plus you have 2 human polls that work into the BCS also and the voters could drop off if this is a weak showing......

In the Harris Poll and the Coaches Poll they have Texas at number 5 and WV at number 4, These 2 polls are taken into account for the BCS......So your saying if WV wins by a touchdown against an unranked team and Texas goes in and beats a ranked team in there own house by 2 touchdowns.....Next week Texas would be ranked higher in those 2 polls.......WV knows they have to be lights out all year to have a chance........No the BCS computers don't take margin of victory or performance into account but you can bet your ass the harris poll and coaches poll does......

These guys make or break WV this season along with the coaches poll....
This year, the BCS has again commissioned Harris Interactive to construct a panel of former players, coaches, administrators and current and former media who are committed to ranking the college teams each week during the 2006 college football season. Panelists have been randomly selected from among more than 300 nominations submitted by the conference offices and the independent institutions. The panel has been designed to be a statistically valid representation of all 11 Division I-A conferences and institutions participating in the Bowl Championship Series.
