after a GREAT outing this last weekend (money wise), my confidence picks are:
clemson -44.5
pitt -10
syracuse +25.5
purdue -7.5
iowa -17.5
kansas st +10.5 (irregular line movement)
san jose st -14
cincy +26.5
usc -18.5 (irregular line movement)
that's what i got for now...
as you know, things WILL change by gametime and i'll probably turn coat a bunch...

showers happening LATE in clemson, and temperature is perfect football temp (55 degrees)... since the rain wont be happening until after the game, im taking clemson minus the points due to the fact that they almost lost to the demon deacons and they have a chip on their shoulder...
BC has had a VERY tough schedule to date compared to VT... this vt team is not the team of old with mini vick.. i see BC's physicality (see my BC=Georgia Tech post) and size being too much to dominate in this game...
love that the public is 31% on temple (even though they are one of the 5 worst teams in college ball playing against a high powered, 12th ranked clemson offense) and 77% on VT despite VERY LITTLE line movement....
going dime style on both..

like the csu pick and i think i like the bc pick. not sure what to expect in the clemson game, especially with ga tech looming. thats why i took clemson in the first half, but as long as they can keep temple out of the endzone both should be okay. big "if," though.
if clemson were to play minnesota and louisville, im pretty sure that they'd hang with either team...
both of those teams ran up 62 unanswered points against temple....
vandy won by 29 points with an average offense so in front of a nationally televised thursday night, perfect playing weather, chip on their shoulder for almost dropping one to wake, i think that temple will once again get their asses handed to them...
i'd fade to the public on this, but the public is 34% on temple to cover (my usual fade is 76% or higher for the public favorite) so this wouldnt really be considered a vegas ass fuck with clemson at 64% the favorite...

pow--still feel good about pitt? A lot of action on them and little line movement again. Another typical friday night matchup--I think CF somehow backdoors this thing.

how the hell is Miami OH only giving 7.5 to buffalo and the public is STILL on buff (70%)...
the line is sketchy on this though since it opened at 8.5 and is now down to 7.5 despite the public being all over buffalo...

pow workin second shift,,gotta put it in early......pitt should win the game barring a disaster...line is 11.5 right now.........what palko will show tonight?? i watched this kid in hs, he was something else...........ml is high may just go small on that.....11 point lines scare me,,my pick of the year was rice plus 11 over army............as you know the 11 wasnt needed,pissed me off my book didnt have the ml on that one!!! would have been nice to have a 3 teamer parlay last night!!! 3 and 0 for me,that dont happen to much:thumbs: gl tonight and this weekend:thumbs:

Well since "Vegas" knows who is going to cover every single game maybe I should back off my play on Pitt tonight...:pud:
As usual, it will probably come down to a bad call or dropped pass or missed PAT. I'm pretty sure that Pitt is going to be covering the 10.5 at some point in this game so I have to give it, it's just going to be a matter of whether or not they get backdoored.

lmfao@vaf,,, public is pounding pitt for sure.......like i said might take pitt just to win,,not gonna lay the 11.5......could they win by 3 touchdowns?? the answer is yes,,,but will they?? very hard to go against the home doggie during the week.........been gettin killed all year in the pros,,, last week finally had a winning week,,hope we make it two in a row,,helps being off to a good start..............eyeing your other plays for sat,,gonna try to just play a few!!! ufc sat night as well,,good luck tonight and this weekend.................

im not sure if the :pud: was meant as a slam towards me or not...
pitt took care of syracuse at home last game... despite the orange playing like shit, pitt would have won that game anyway...
if syracuse were to play ucf, i'd take syracuse -10.5 against ucf all day long...
however, since this is a friday night and people KNOW THINGS that we are not privy to, im going to bank that ucf keeps it within the 10.5 just because vegas entices people to lean heavily on one team or another at a certain line for a reason..
now, whether it be through line manipulation or public favorites, knowing who's hurt and who's not, how radical/conservatively the coaches are going to play, vegas does have its hand in the public's decision..
there's no mistaking why the FAVORITE UNDERDOG is 12-2 (not counting TOTAL selections) the last 3 weeks during odd scheduled nights (weeknights/sunday night)...

pow dont worry i know nothing is 100 percent.........my problem is i start liking to manny games....last week only took 3 on sat and 3 on sunday,,hit every one....when i start taking 6 or more games on a single day,that usually spells vaf:) good luck tonight and this weekend......:thumbs:

No, I'm usually in agreement with you there Pow. I have been on all of those home dogs right along with you the past few weeks. The difference for me is that tonight's game is out of league. I give home dogs more value in-league. But you're right, no matter which side you're on I don't think tonights game is worth a big play. Like i said before it'll probably come down to some stupid ending with a dumbass penalty or retarded coaching decision or some other random bullshit haha.

12-2 is pretty damn tuff, eh? i'm not sure which way to go, and it's probably a good game to lay off. however, if looking to make a play i think the play should be small. there's better action tomorrow
taking a closer look at the wisky pick, i actually like minn +8 right now...
the line opened at 9.5 and has moved to 8 despite 88% of the public being on wisky..
wisky as walked all over a bunch of shitty teams but minnesota's 2-4 record is very deceiving as they've lost two heart breakers to purdue and penn state while keeping within 2 scores of michigan...
this game may be my pick for 2morrow, but i'll let you know by 5

Pow, I must respectfully disagree. Minny's 2-4 record is deceiving, but it's deceiving because Minny is even worse than that!
Minny has beaten Kent St and Temple!!! That's it! Every time they stepped up in competition, they lost. Cal dominated them, Michigan dominated that whole game, final score is deceiving. Purdue is an average team and they lost. Penn St is less than average, and they lost.
Throw in the fact that Wisconsin historically dominates Minny at Camp Randall, and there is no logical reason to like the Gophers.

SDS i think wisky's record is deceiving,the only good team they played was michigan and they were 14 point dog.Minnesota also played michigan but they were only 10 point dog.Cal,purdue,penn st,michigan are all good teams.This game in one of those where stats don't matter.they are very similar on both sides.8.5 is alot of points.

POW- GL!.....i just don't understand the MSU picks....Stanton has really, really, really bad ribs right now. The guy is hurting big time. He is missing 1 of his top 2 receivers. The trend is awful for MSU in terms of being 1-29 ATS in SU losses following a SU loss. If OSU shows up tomorrow, take it from a guy who has seen them 3 times live and isn't a homer when it comes to betting them, MSU is going to get run out of the building. Like your NCST play. Really hadn't looked at that one, but may take a closer look at it. CMU is 23-4 ATS in their L27 wins and is pretty dominant recently as a home favorite. I actually played both the MIN/WIS game and the BALLST/CMU games over the totals. I think both games see some points as BALLST defense is just atrocious. GL!...
well, i hope you guys all did better than me this weekend...
i somehow broke even because of my huge cal bet and the addition of michigan large to make up for the rest of my saturday...
