My 2nd Big Play this Year - WK7

Well guys started out the year very nicely with my first "Big Bet" of the year on Houston vs the U. of Miami. Wrote an essay on the game, and the cover was never in doubt. Even almost hit my +800, but Edgerrin James's little cousin won the game for Miami.

YTD 1-0 +5.6 Units

Have bet some big games since then, but nothing posted. For my own personal records up about 40 units this season, and that is after a terrible start in Week 1 when I lost about 8 Units. Got another big one for this week:

1.) Florida Gators +3.5 --- 8.5 Units to win 5 Units

This game reminds me alot of LSU coming into Auburn. If Auburn wins this game, it will be because of their defense. Their one dimensional offense will not in any way blow out Florida IMO. I really just feel like everyone is waiting for the spot to fade Florida because they feel like they are "due for a loss". I know it is hard to come out undefeated in the SEC, but one thing I do know is that when Urban Meyer gets a roll going, he is arguabley one of the toughest coaches in the nation to beat. He did it with BG, he did it with Utah in historic fashion, and now he has built a team down in Gainesville that is capable of contending for the National Championship. Every good capper I know had LSU last week, and boy if I didnt read any of you fine gentlemens posts, I definatley would have had more htan 2 units on the Gators. Florida has owned Auburn since '92, going 9-2 SU since that span and 8-3 ATS. Also in the last 9 years they are 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS vs the Tigers. Auburn is a heck of a place to play, the HF advantage is def a factor that I capped in this game, but the Gators are just playing so dominant right now, that I have nothing that tells me they won't be able to go undefeated this year. I am going to make a wager on the Gators to win the NC, Urban Meyer was brought to Gainesville to do just taht, and aftger a few succesful (not in the yes of Gator fans however) years, he has built a team that can contend. People question Meyer using the 2 headed monster at QB, but he uses Tebow's athleticisim extremley well in situations were he feels the QB can be more efficient than Leak. Leak is his gunslinger, an Teabow is his new Alex Smith. The mobile Teabow threw 2 passes vs the 3rd best defense in the nation last week, and they were both for TD's. It does not seem to affect Leak as muc has people think, he knows Meyer's gameplan needs mobility at the QB position at times, and Teabow brings that added punch. Leak is stil getting Heisman like numbers, and Teabow is warming up for what I beleive will be a 2nd coming of Alex Smith down in Gainesville. Bought this one up 3.5 (-170 :bag: ) because I really feel that if Auburn pulls this one out, it will be in a low scoring affair where a key FG will be waht does it. I know the line wiill not go down so I bought up now from 1.5 before it gets to a pick, or maybe even Florida being favored. I can go on and on about this play, and argue how many think Auburn "won't lose 2 games in a row at home" and that "Florida looks to easy"...But I learned that going with stupid assumptions like that based on what you presume "won't happen" is a losing prop the majority of the time. Im confident the Gators will make the NC this year, and that means they have to win at Auburn. Sure it is a hostile enviroment, but Florida is showing they are DAMN WELL ready to play in any enviroment and never surrender. Just ask the Vols and their 10 point lead AT Knoxville, where the Gators pulled out a 1 pt win. This Florida team has all the trimmings of a NC contender, and I would love to see them play Ohio St in the NC. But for now ill go with what i feel is the hottest team in the nation right now.

2.) V-Tech -2.5 --- 2.2 Units to win 2 Units

BC very well could be 1-3 right now if it where not for some heroic come from behind wins. But I will go with the better coach in this one, and back Beamer Ball: play good defense, pound the ball on the ground, and play SPECTACULAR on Special teams. Also a guy I know who has hit at a 63 % + clip the last few years has this one as well for a 3*, and he plays them from 1-5*, so I will take better coaching in a dual between very equal conference foes in this one.

JoePa, you KNOW it....Tigers are Gator Bait this weekend...Florida will shut down the one dimensional Auburn attack, and here is some info I borrowed:

Here is the info on Florida that a VERY solid capper friend of mine has to back his Gators play:

Auburn scores 7 against LSU and 10 against Auburn with BOTH @ Auburn! A total of 17 points.

AU rushing yards. 38 for 72yds against LSU. 31 for 60yds against Ark. Total yards =69 rushes for 132 yards for the 2 HOME SEC Games.

AU passing yardage for the 2 games is 28 comp in 49 att for 263 yards.

.132 rushing yards +263 passing yards =395 Total yards for the 2 HOME GAMES = Average of 197.5 Yards in TOTAL OFFENSE by Auburn in their 2 SEC home games, although the LSU game was a defensive batle so the stats for that game are not as indicative of how dominant Auburns offense was vs LSU...However LSU has been overhyped WAY to much because of Russell...Just because the guy can throw the ball the distance of the football field, everyone feels like they have a SUPERSTAR at QB...Sure he is a gunslinger, but he will never see a snap in the NFL @ QB, so he might as well start getting his reps in at Tight End, or maybe a a Matt Jones type transition that the ex-Arky QB did for the Jags, that is paying off


The ONLY thing AU has going for it is Saturday Night emotion and that is powerful+AU is a desperate team. AU QB Cox has limited mobility due to a knee and ankle injury. Florida's run defense is as stout as either LSU or Arky giving up 57 ypg/2.3 yp..

AU does not have the playmakers on offense to really challenge Florida's pass defense.

The X Factor for Florida is Tim Tebow and the struggles of the Florida placekicker. I believe Florida has given up only 1 td in the second half this year.. As some long time posters here will attest, I am NOT a Florida Homer! I will play against UF in a heart beat if the situation calls for it. UF continues their surge.

At a aboy...LOVE this play...another trend ive noticed in these late night SEC games is the road team has been VERY succesful the last few weeks is ROAD FAVS have been lights out and done VERY well winning and/or covering...Tenn and S.Carolina last week, Kentucky in week 4....several other games I dont remember off hand, but SEC road favs in the late games have been doing fairly well

WHY THE HELL would they make the rule that a HOLDING CALL IN THE ENDZONE SHOULD RESULT IN A SAFETY WHEN THE BALL WAS COMPLTED? the hold was a legit call...my god the guy tackled him. You were done in by a brutal 2H by FLA....the blocked punt the INT's.....i personally thought the guy knocked the ball out of his hand, but whatever. FLA melted down and they didn't deserve to win....period.
