View Full Version : ESPN Gameday

I was just asking for everyone opinion on the latest rumor about ESPN Gameday.

The rumor I heard is the Kirk on Gameday signed with ABC. Based on that ESPN has to go everywhere that ABC goes which leaves out the SEC. CBS has a contract to get the best SEC game of the week and has the first pick; therefore, no matter if it is Auburn (2) vs. Florida (5), gameday will not make the trip.

3 weeks ago it seemed a little odd that Gameday made its way to USC to watch Nebraska. Eventhough Auburn played LSU a top 5 matchup.

It seems pretty shitty that Gameday will not make the trip to any SEC campuses this year or until Kirk's contract is up.

What is everyones opinion. That is just a rumor but it did seem weird that they did not come to Auburn a couple weeks ago and will be even more weird if they dont go to Florida this weekend or Auburn next.

there ain't no big conspiracy.

First, ESPN and ABC are both owned by the same company. Regarding sports, they are basically the same network.

Second, the Gameday crew has done SEC games in the past, and they probably will do the LSU-Fla game this week.

Just relax SEC fan, everything's gonna be alright.

And Auburn does not deserve to be ranked ahead of Michigan.

Haha sure they do. The Big 10 has 2 good teams. Come play in the SEC. AUBURN, FLORIDA, LSU, TENNESSEE, GEORGIA, ALABAMA. Big deal. Auburn and the rest would go undefeated in that weak ass conference.

It's no big deal anyway. Put Michigan ahead of Auburn. You still have to play Ohio St. Auburn can sit on number 3 and then just jump your ass once you lose.

No Auburn is not the #2 team in the Country right now, but who is? Travelling in the SEC is much more difficult than the Big 10. Match the top 10 in the Big 10 and the top 10 in the SEC and the SEC will win every time. Best conference in the land.

And I knew ABC was with ESPN.

They wont be at LSU/Florida unless they leave Herbstreit behind (which ain't happening). That's not a rumor, it's a fact. CBS gets to pick which Saturday SEC game they want because they have a contract with the conference. Herbstreit is part of the Saturday night crew for ESPN on ABC and is part of the College Gameday show for ESPN so they can't go to whatever game CBS has sinec it's impossible for him to be in two places at once.

In year's past, they could go because the Saturday night game did not exist on ABC primetime, but now it's not feasible unless Herbstreit joined Fowler and Corso via satellite (which I'm sure, he, nor they, want sine they built that show into what it has become).

I would guess (haven't looked yet) that the Gameday crew will be in Norman for Texas/Oklahoma this week. It's not a knock on the SEC at all by ESPN, it's just a conflict of schedules.

yeah i understand. Everything these days is about money. I don't care that much for Kirk anyway.

But it is shitty of ESPN and ABC to allow that. They avearge 2-3 trips a year to SEC schools. Not this year.

Sure they belong. They belong behind Michigan.:yeah:

I'm still pissed cuz they didn't cover v SC.:bang:

I know, it's time to move on.

But, if Auburn takes care of their business, they will play the winner of OSU/Mich in the national title game. And the Buckeyes or Wolverines are gonna beat dem Tigers, or War Eagles, or whatever the hell they are.:beer2: :gulp:

Just like teams, conferences vary in quality from year to year.

This year the ACC and Big-12 look down to me. USC is down a bit but overall I think the Pac-10 is improved. I think the Big-10 is down this year, overall. But they may have two of the best teams in the country and I disagree with your statement that the Big-10 is a "weak ass" conference. Ohio St. crushed Texas on their field, Michigan crushed Notre Dame on theirs so I don't think "weak ass" applies here.

The SEC may have some good teams, but I'm not sure how many really good teams they have. We'll see.

Much like the Ore-OK game, the refs stole the Aub-LSU game from LSU.

And if S. Carolina can score 17 on Auburn, Michigan could score 30, maybe more.

The Big 10 is good, let me tell ya. They are a two team conference. Its always comes down to two teams. The SEC is 6 deep and even has a Championship game unlike the BIG 10. They are too scared to even play another game. The SEC by far is the best conference year in and year out. Better athletes, coaches, and fans.

Nothing beats SEC football (Fans, stadiums, games, ect...)

Kirk is good, but he has a one frame mind. Since he went to OSU he thinks they are god. Just like Holtz, he thinks S. Car. is going to win the Nat'l Champ, thats only if you can understand him. He slobers and spits so much during his analysis it is tough to understand him. A dumb ass at that for letting the best back in the SEC get away.

As for the LSU game.

Read the rule book. The ball was UNCATCHABLE. That means that noone could have caught it. Wow!!! It was deflected( directing an object in a different direction) by a player (someone competing in a competition) making the ball( a object that people throw or roll) UNCATCHABLE....Pass interference can't be called. Just like in the OU game. They should have made the same call that is why those ref's got suspended.

Please don't make urself look like more of a dumbass than you already are.

Get him BO...

Damn beach boys need to stay at the beach, and not try to get involved in something like football. They think the PAC-10 is king and maybe they need to wake up and come join the SEC for a year.

SEC vs. PAC-10

Auburn vs. Wazzuu ( Not even close 43-14)

UT vs. Cal ( Corso "Cal is the best in the PAC-10", I sure as hell hope not, Did anyone besides me watch that massacre?)

Ark Vs. USC ( Prob the 8th ranked team in the SEC vs. 1st ranked the the PAC-10, blowout expected)

LSU vs. Arizonia ( Hurt me to even watch that game)

Wareagle, the last time I heard that kind of smack was right before heavily favored Auburn had their asses kicked by Wisconsin in last year's Capital One Bowl.

Keep talking. Hope to see your ass in Nat'l Champ. Game. You have a tough schedule to end with. Only one game, Michigan. Try playing 4 Michigans in one year. (UGA, UF, Alabama, LSU)

Exactly, K-9.

Hey SEC fan, start defeating some Big 10 teams before you run smack.

I'll give ya Auburn, LSU, and maybe Fla. Georgia and Alabama are garbage. Don't get me started on Miss St and Ole Miss. Vandy is Vandy. Tennessee is decent. S. Carolina is mediocre at best.

Ohio St and Michigan could beat any team in the SEC. Wisconsin could give 'em all a game too. So could Penn St. So could Iowa. And the Big 10's middle-of-the-road teams (Purdue, Mich St, Minny) could matchup with SEC's middle-of-the-roaders.

And Indiana, Illinois, and Northwestern suck out loud, just like Miss St and Ole Miss.

One thing I've noticed about this site is there doesn't seem to be much trash-talking about people's teams. And I think that's one reason, among others, that seperates this site from most others. So let's not muck up a good thing and let's focus on picking some winners this Saturday. Good luck!

P.S. WarEagle, a few friends and I created a college football pool. I'll tell the board about it one of these days; it's a lot of fun. Anyway, one of my teams is Auburn so I hope they run the table and meet my beloved Bucks (I got them too!) in the Fiesta Bowl. Go Tigers and go Bucks!

We can still beat the piss out of Central Fla and the Orlando Magic for that matter.
