my take on tonights game

QB - Ben is out, Batch is in, Culpepper debuts for miami, "he who makes the fewer errors wins" .............. remember that, I think Culpepper tries to make something happen and throws a pick or 2 that hurts the team. He has a new OL - RB - WR - TE to work with, something goes wrong IMO and Pitt takes advantage. Cowher will have drilled BATCH with the ............. dont fuk up ........... game plan. They will follow it until Pitt gets down by 8 or more. If Pitt gets the lead by 7 then this is right in their hands.

RB - i think PITT has the advantage because Willie is a homerun RB, he can go for a 60 yard TD while Brown for miami is far less likely to do that. I think Brwon struggles and fumbles at least once

WR - depends on the QB and how much they are used. Chambers of miami has a history of vanishing from games, he had several huge games to end 2005 and i think odds are he does not make a game changing play tonight, Hines Ward vs Miami's NEW-ish db group is an advantage but BATCH may not be effective enough passing

TE - Miller vs Randy M ............... too guys capable of making a game changing play, culpepper loved the TE in Minny, Miller should be able to do as he pleases vs the miami safety group. Troy Polamalou crushed GATES last year. He may be geared up for Randy and his antics as well

OL - Miami is NEW-ish again at LT , C, and RG , on the road at a hostile stadium with a new QB ? I see mistakes all over the place. Penalties and missed assignments

defensive front 7 ............... miami has a stack of talent and depth , PITT wont run with ease , PITTS group lost their vital NG in free agency but they will be geared up and ready and its not like they are facing a dominant OL either

D-backs ................. this is where Big Ben would of killed miami, can BATCH pull it off ? The PITT DB's are superior

kickers ........... even

final analysis ........................ there will be 1 big play that decides this game. I see a tight game and under 35 points. Pitt wins by 2 or more. Miami is just too new IMO and traveling to PITT is a tall order.

Final Score .............. Pitt "covers" and wins by 2 or more, i will say 20 - 13

game goes under is my most confident play, there will need to be 2 easy TD scores for it to go over, i think both defenses show up and 1 dominates the game, i think 1 of these guys lets down their team

culpepper ............ try's too hard and fails

brown ............. fails to get to 100 yards and fumbles

Miami DB's ................ give up at least 1 huge pass play

BATCH ............... shows he should not be in the NFL

my plan

seperate UNDER 34.5 plays

a parlay of PITT to cover and under 34.5

I aint going HUGE here

good luck to all

I like the analysis. I think you're a little off on Batch. He's a decent backup and a far better improvement than Maddux. He put up decent numbers last year when he took over for Ben. I think he started two games and had a decent completion %. I think Culpepper will force a couple of things today.

GL with your play. I'm doing the same.

I think if Pitt cut Batch ......................... he would be selling cars

he has adequate skills and has many years with them so they feel safe, i dont think any other team would want him

I am gambling that he will play close to the vest and be very pedestrian

1st team to lead by 6 or 7 has a massive advantage in this one

way more than usual

I will also add that i watched every minute of every Dolphins preseason play

even the webcast practices

and i am taking the Steelers tonight

there is just so much newness going on with miami, they might of been able to sneak up on a Pitt team that had Ben and surprise them

if Miami pulls this off then i see them being a very powerful team in the NFL this year

Culpepper without MOSS has been dreadful

I think you are way off on the Pitt DBs being superior, they get exposed if the opposing QB has time to throw.

Their D is predicated on the front 7. Without pressure they are mediocre.

Polamalou is an animal though.

Not saying you are wrong, just my opinion.

the Miami DB's are 2 or 3 guys who were not in miami last year

and the nickle DB is a rookie, but a R-1 db at that

Pitt is more of a veteran group and they have a forsure ALL PRO back their in Troy P and 2 very legit CB's

Miami brought i Will Allen from NYG

+

Andre Goodman is the other CB due to Daniels being out

=============================================

Miami is sending out 3 new DB starters tonight

Will allen ...... 1st year cb

Goodman ........... 1st year cb

Tillman ........... 2nd season in miami, safety

Hill .......... 1st year safety

Miami DB's were a injured and confused bunch in preseason, the jaguars lit them up

can BATCH and the Pitt WR's take advantage ?

I think assignments get missed and a WR or Miller or Parker makes them pay for it
