why go against the mets ? Just curious if you have any reason for that. I was kind of leaning toward the mets today

Tony Armas has not been good since the beginning of the season

and Trachsel is starting another winning streak.

Sorry for the late Response Marines.

For 1 thing, the last couple weeks I have had no success, and every time I play a favorite where the "public" percantages are on them at 80% or higher, it has been an automatic loss. At the time I made the wager, I had it shown at 85% on the Mets. So, I really like WAS offense for some stupid reason, I decide to go the other way.

I made the play thinking the Nats would get to Traschel a little more than they have.... its 1-0 in the 7th right now. I realize Armas hasn't been the man by any means, but the Nats are around .500 in his starts.
Lately I've been basing so many things on recent performances... and sometimes you just have to look at it, throw some stats out the window, and realize a guy who is shitty is going to have a good game now and then or else they simply wouldn't be in the big leagues.
And in contrast, a guy who has thrown 20 consecutive scoreless innings is going to have a start where he gives up 4 runs... its just the nature of the game, thats baseball. Just as an example, in the last couple weeks, I lost a wager with Lackey when I bet on him coming off of 21 scoreless innings or whatever it was... the start I wager on him, he gives up 4 runs. I think it was Nalasco for Florida, he hadnt given up a run in a couple games... he goes to Philly, who can really stink it up offensively, I make a wager on him.... and he gets his tits lit.
look at Jeff Weaver. I can't stand him, he's just not a good starter anymore... but he has to have SOMETHING to stay in a big league rotation, especially a team atop their division, and he will have a deascent start now and then. You cant assume he is going to get shelled EVERYTIME he starts. Thats my opinion and thats the dumb stuff I was doing before losing a lot of money.
But, I will say fade Russ Ortiz and Joe Mays everytime... thats the only exception. LOL

Orrrr, look at todays Kansas city game. I played KC, which I have maybe 3 times on the whole year, because looking at the stats, I really liked what this Hudson fag was doing.

Thats about the only thing I based my wager on, didn't look at lefty/right splits, home/away numbers, didn't take into account how good Sowers has been.... just played Hudson and I got my ass burnt once again.
Just 1 loss, it isn't a huge deal, but thats the type of thing that has happened when I place so much emphasis on recent starts by a starter for example.

Orrrrr, look at the Halos beating the Yanks and Wang right now.
I also really love the Angels team, probably overvalue them more than what they are, and I really thought they would play well today, hit around Wang a little bit.
Reason being, to go on a stretch where your making 11, 12 starts, and you dont lose a game... and your ERA is 1.80 or whatever the hell his is.... thats an unreal stretch and at some point he has to get hit or else he is going to be the best statistical pitcher of all-time. lol

I loved the Halos today, but since I've been so ridiciolously bad lately, I read War Dogs post, he was on the Yankees.... Stif said how much he liked the Yankees today... so I thought to myself, SELF, lets just forget that one for today, not worth it if these other guys are thinking Yankees so much.

And its only 4-1 in the 5th inning, sounds silly coming out saying I loved the Angels now, but this morning I was going to make that my only play. I backed off knowing I'm not worth a shit lately and respect War Dogs and Stif's opinions a lot.

One of the good things about this forum, when your just not doing that well, its very advised to take the opinions of others and use that info.

I appreciate your reply, that game was close anyways.
I am constantly checking these forums because you guys always provide good information that I miss when making my picks.

I am still kind of new but always have followed baseball, hopefully will be ready to post picks by next season or so. :-) i'll be in college bball too probably.

Thanks again, like i said i always just like to see the reasoning

I really though Weiner....um, i mean Wang would do better today, and that pitching in NY would be real tough on Weaver. That's why I took the Yanks.

I took the Angels with Saunders in game 1 of that series, just ignoring that Saunders may be a bit rattled pitching at Yankee stadium, and it worked out, so I don't know why the hell I changed my reasoning today.

It seems Weaver and Saunders are for real.

With that being said, both of em will probably get lit up next time out, lol

haha.
Yes now we've seen Weaver vs the red sox and yanks

I guess he is for real, I personally still think its funny that he replaced his brother.

I bet w/ the yanks as well today, and look back saying I shouldn't have. But alot of games went the other way.

I'd like to take a peak at that bet the under-dog everyday stat again, which was extremely interesting whomever was doing it:yeah:
