anyone really had the time to look at the competition here? (Ed I know you have been tuned in...)I have only had the chance to these guys play a lackluster game against Italy.
The talent and coaching of our squad SHOULD reasult in a gold. From the start, I have been worried about only two obvious problems personnel wise"lack of outside shooting, and lack of a truly dominant big man. but in Brand I trust, and as long as he is healthy he can handle anyone here.
Anyone seen Argentina? Any other team that poses a realistic threat? just curious...I think we continue to roll, as long as D Wade and others can control their egos and (usually healthy) desire to take over games themselves. :gulp:

The fortunate thing for USA is that Spain and Argentina are on the opposite side of the bracket so they will only have to play one of them and not both. USA is still vulnerable and I do expect them to lose in the championship game assuming they get there.

I thought they'd lose, I just didn't think it would be until Spain/Argentina. Now they lost to Greece and will still have the opportunity to lose to Argentina in the 3rd place game. :puke:

I watched both games and I'm picking Greece to win the finals. I'm surprised they are favored by 4.5 points though. I thought the spread would have been Greece plus 3 or so.
I picked Greece 2nd half +9.5 and Argentina +2 2nd half but lost smaller before-game bets on both games so I'll likely wait until halftime and see how they match up on the court rather than try to work it out on paper.
These games have been pretty good for betting, other than the France-Germany debacle I've made decent money on these games! Although I needed Spain-Argentina to get to OT to cash my Over bet, which didn't happen, so that hurt.
And I like USA to beat Argentina but I'm not laying 7.5 points without seeing what kind of attitude the USA players bring to the court after losing.
Any predictions for the Turkey-France game?
