5-1 yesterday

Friday!! July 21 Baseball Picks:

1st 5 Innings Cubs/Nats Over 4.5 -117----- 1.17/1

Toronto Blue Jays -127------- 2/1.46
Atlanta Braves -133-------- 2/1.34

Team Totals Florida Marlins Over 4.5 -108------- 2.16/2
Team Totals Chicago White Sox Over 5.5-------- +105
Team Totals LA Dodgers Over 4.5------------------+105

*1st 5 Innings Cubs/Nats Over 4.5*
Prior off the DL... what a shocker... against a little better Nats O, I don't see Prior shutting teams down like he once did for awhile.
Astacio is a 5 inning starter.. his last 2 starts the totals after 5 innings were 7 runs and 6 runs. The 6 run game was against Chris Young.
I'd play the total of the whole game but both Pens when you look at it have been good the last week. I don't like bullpens chances when they have to come into the game in the 5th or 6th, but the way they have thrown lately not playing against that this time.

*Toronto Blue Jays -127*
I like Toronto in this series. Wright isn't bad on the road or anything but could see Toronto busting out tonight for some reason. I don't know if i've ever backed Burnett before and it will prolly be the only time if he sucks tonight. if he ever figured it out he'd be dominating, just inconsistent.. hard to be consistent when your vagina is sprained every other outing.

*Atlanta Braves -133*
I'm not jumping off this ship cuz they lost to one of the best pitchers in baseball. I was going to play the 1st 5 innings here... but Smoltz, not recently, but this season has had trouble in the first 2 innings then he cruises.
His batting average against the first time through the lineup is .292. the 2nd time through the lineup .248..... and the 3rd time thru the lineup .211
Cory Lidle on the other hand 1st time thru the lineup .273... 2nd time thru the lineup .281... and 3rd time thru the lineup .298.
What that shows you right there is how smart of a pitcher Smoltzie is being able to make adjustments to hitters while hitters make adjustments to Lidle.

*Team Totals Florida Marlins Over 4.5*
Maholms a young leftie starter still having trouble on the road. if Florida isn't going to score off this guy they aren't ever going too.

*Team Totals Chicago White Sox Over 5.5*
I put this in last night and got it at +money.
John Wasdin's homers per 9 innings ratio is the 4th highest in the history of baseball amongst the 1,426 pitchers who have thrown at least 750 innings. Congratulations John!
Lefties are hitting .326 off Wasdin.... can you say "Jim Thome, You Cannnn Put it on the Booooooooooard, YESSSSS!!!"

*Team Totals La Dodgers Over 4.5*
I know Suppan had a good start against the Dodgers last time out... but that was the Dodgers offense on the road. Everyone has a good start against the Dodgers away offensive team.
They switch uni's with their home clones when they go back to LA and get their hitting shoes on.
I could be dead wrong on this one, and I do think their offense will regress in the 2nd half... but they way they hit at home and how terrible Suppan is on the road is a recipe for Guys crossing home plate!!
We got the wind blowing out to center tonight as well, that doesn't hurt the cause.

Going to play some series prices as well, get that figured out. Good Luck!!

GL hawk.. loving the Bravos play as well as the marlins total runs..

I might just play the nats game over, they tend to score in bunched towards the later part of the game. I also like the 'Jays game but both pitchers are unpredicatable but its too cheap of a price for a better pitcher in burnett and at home, very understandable..

Thx MrTrend

adding these Minor League Plays:
AAA Pacific Coast League
Tucson +114------ .50/.57
Nashville +101-----.50/.50
Tacoma +107------.50/.53

AA Easter League
Conn. Defenders -105----.52/.50

Tucson lost Stephen Drew and Carlos Quentin to the big club... but Drew's replacement Kenny Perez actually has better numbers this year.
Tucson and Salt Lake are the top 2 hitting teams... Tucson has 4 possibly 5 guys in the lineup tonight hitting over .300 without Quentin and Drew.
Bass for Tucson is 6-0 with a 3.63 ERA.... Olenberger for Salt Lake has a 5.22 ERA

Nashville sends Justin Lehr to the mound, this is a big pitching advantage with the starters. Lehr has a 45/14 K/BB ratio in 60 Innings. Derek Lee for Oklahoma is a 10 year minor leaguer never called up to the big leagues... in 83 innings this year he has given up 98 hits and only 54 strikeout.
Nashville is 53-44 overall... Oklahoma 48-49

Tacoma plays at Fresno. Fresno has lost 6 in a row.. 3-15 last 18 games and it started when they lost 4 games in a row to Tacoma.

Conneticut is a play against Randy wolf who is starting for the Reading Phillies. Wolf's last start he only went 3 1/3 innings walked 3 guys and had 3 wild pitches. Probably isn't too sharp right now.

Let's see what happens!

All right, 2 more for tonight and then i'm out, going fishing!

Team Total Oakland Under 4-------- -128------ 2/1.44

LAA Angels RL -116--------- 2.32/2

*Oakland Under 4*
Let's just put it this way.... Verlander has given up less HITS in his last 3 starts than Johan Santana has given up RUNS in his last 3 starts. Also Verlanders 8 hits given up equals how many runs Roy Halladay has given up in his last 3 starts.

*LAA Angels -116*
It's called a Salad Runelvys... try to mix one of those in every now and then. This guy makes Ponson look like Jared from the Subway commercials.
Colon has been very good last 3 times out, he just pours it in the zone. I know KC killed Santana last night, but Santana has sucked on the road all year.
It's the biggest pitching mismatch on the card, usually 1 of these is good for covering the Run Line on a given night... I'll say it will be this one.

Ok, going to catch some fishies now!

Tampa Bay Over 4.5 -102------- 4.08/4

Ortiz just pitched, if you can call it that, on Tuesday. Emergency start. Not prepared. Good opportunity for TB to finally face a normal pitcher.

Ahhhhh, OAK Under 4 was golden... the reason I didn't take the total of the game was cuz of something like that..... Push.

At least Eric Chavez can't hit and didn't get a hit to make the bet lose. lol
