What a freeking joke our government is and ALL the clowns who we elect (both R and D). I really hope they crack down on this internet gambling. That would help stop millions of illegal aliens from pouring in, it would fix our healthcare system that pays for these people's care out of pockets like mine.....it would defintitely help our schools to ban interent gambling, as our schools would no longer be flooded with illegals who can't speak English and crowd our schools and bog down the learning process for other kids................we have so many economic and social problems in this country and the focus of our attention is on internet gambling????!!!????..........435 ass clowns in one room, 100 in the other........and this is what we get for our votes......:puke:

It'll pass the House but wont in Senate and its possible it wont even get voted on in Senate as well.
Banks dont want to police the shit.
Prohibition has proven not to work.
Vegas sees the pie getting huge and wants in. Ive heard they have hired 2 of the top lobbyists to make a run at trying to get it regulated rather than banned. You better believe they already have websites built and ready to roll the second regulation became an option as well. Harry Reid is tied into Vegas and he has MAJOR pull in the Semate. This guy is no joke.
Lastly, believe it or not, the Christian wing, which many think are going to sink online gambling may be our best ally. Ive heard that they want ALL online gambling banned. Supposedly they aren't accepting of carve outs that allow horse racing, lotteries, etc, so that means if the govt proposes no online horse racing you get Kentucky and the FAT AND RICH horse racing industry opposing this and they are STRONG.
This will pass the House and either lose in Senate or not get voted on. Keep in mind that they only have so much time to deal with this stuff and if that time expires at years end. This process starts over again and is the same process that has failed over and over.
What's likely to happen is for an agreement to be made to do a study to regulate and tax it which is what SHOULD be done anyway.
No worries.

what does this exactly entail......just banning CC use on sites, or not also allowing things like neteller, firepay, deposits from your banking account? what exactly is this bill doing? just CC or the whole damn thing ? and before anything can be done doesnt it also have to go through the senate and not just the house?

Prohibition was brought back because Cubs fans needed a drink and the goverment knew it. I guess you could say the gov't felt sorry for them. They have'nt won the world series since before George Burns was born

I think the bill would band CCs, neteller, firepay, electronic checks from bank account.... also would have jail time for people who do online gambling, i think.... YES, it has to go through the senate.... from what i hear, it might not make it through the senate... at least, we can hope....

drunk driving....usually no jail time.......illegal immigration...certainly no jail time, in fact, where the heck have ya been..come on in and feel free to not pay taxes while you're at it..........but drop a 20 spot on the All Star game and you're going to fry.....
my point wasn't even regarding whether it gets through or not....it was the fact that if i were to rank all the problems in this country....internet gambling probably wouldn't even make a long list......but it's something easy for a politician to make a stand against and keep his name in the paper.........

Not even a worry regardless of the details of any bill. It will not pass the Senate. The House tends to be over-emotional and will pass just about anything because it's easy, they know the Senate is behind them to keep them in check so they have the freedom to pass bills without regard to the conseqences, except their own political fortunes. Keep in mind that the majority of Republicans in the House are conservative, not moderate or liberal, and they represent conservative constituencies.
But the Senate is "The saucer that cools the tea," and they take issues much more seriously except on the fringes of the parties. Implementing any form of regulation or ban would be almost impossible in terms of the mechanics involved. And foreign policy actually comes into play when we start talking about policy that effects the economies of allies in the Carribean and South America. These issues come into consideration whether spoken or not.
It's another no-go on the effort to ban our little hobby. Let's just make sure we do the right thing and keep it a "little hobby" and not a dominant force in our lives.

Let's say this does pass.....
The fact is we are supposed to be a "free" country. However, the goverment outlaws gambling online SOLELY because it is untaxed, unregulated and takes billions out of the economy. Don't tell me it's about morals. Why is the lottery, casinos that are regulated, and the stock market legal. What they are trying to do is Fascism. Plain and simple. Trying to enforce our ISPs to ban gambling websites? If this passes we are living in a FASCIST state. if you think otherwise you are just a delusional idiot. I hate to be so blunt, but it's true.

While I agree with you that the US government should not determine what we can and can't spend our money on.... keep in mind... this bill does not make online gambling illegal.... it already is completely illegal.... this bill is an effort to enforce the law already in effect. So.... we're already a fascist state :yeah:

Why I don't think the bill will pass in the senate the issue standing would be the locking down of internet gambling sites. The government would enforce internet provides to lock all gambling sites and would stop everyone from gaining access inside the US.

The religious want everything banned with no carve outs. They may withdraw their support if theres carveouts.
If theres no carveouts, the horse racing lobby will scream and they aint gonna lose.
