well, one final week of all this WCWS and CWS stuff.....some great teams left in this tourney........
Friday will pit #1(seed) CLE vs. #8GTECH at 11AM PST.........then NCAR will face #5CSUF at 4PM PST..........
lines aren't out yet, but have looked at the matchups and pretty sure where i want to go with these......a lot will depend on where they set the totals and where the value is.....both these games are flat toss ups (GTECH and CLE 3-3 this year).....if you like pitching, make sure you watch game 2 as it should be a battle of 2 top 5 individual ERA guys (Roemer for CSUF is flat sick) and the #1 and #3 ERA teams in College Baseball.....
CWS Series Bet:
FIELD -320 vs. RICE..................not impressed with Rice and i think with 4 ACC teams a Pac10 team and CSUF in the field, they are all far more tested than RICE.
will post Friday's stuff when the lines are available....

Q- THX!....
ToP- i'm still in Phoenix waiting for my call back about the golf....how long should i stay here?....lmao.....thought they might have sent BP to look for you now that he has his government issued Light Sabre......
CLE -167..........................interesting matchup here. These teams met 6 times this year with GTECH winning 2 of 3 in Atlanta and CLE winning 2 of 3 in the ACC tourney. CLE won both the Regular Season and Postseason ACC titles (24-6 RS). GTECH finished 3rd in the ACC (16-14). GTECH will start Blake Wood vs. CLE who will start surprising Sean Clark. He was left off their original 25 man ACC tourney roster but was a late add due to injury. He has been awesome (knock on wood..lol..)...he went 8 innings and gave up 1 run in the ACC tourney final. Then pitched 8 innings of scoreless ball in CLE Regional opener grabbing a 3-0 win. He also tossed 3 2/3 scoreless relief in their Super Regional Clincher. The X factor is that GTECH hasn't faced Clark all year long. CLE has seen Wood and hit him pretty hard (7 ER in 3innings) and have seen him last year, as well. These are both very potent offenses and Wood is a great pitcher (lifetime 4-0 w/2.44 ERA in postseason play). Neither team was here last year so experience isn't a factor. But CLE was 25-7 vs. top25 teams this year, went 4-1 at neutral sites and finished the year FREEKING 24-1.......that is kind of hard to ignore. They are 5th in the nation in ERA and 26th in fielding percentage. They also only allowed 4 extra base hits in their 5 Regional and Super Regional matchups. Their offense is very potent and very balanced. This compared to GTECH who is 3rd in scoring and has the better offense by 1+ runs/game, but in pitching contrast is 76th in ERA and 109th in defense. In my book, pitching and defense is the key in college baseball and given that the edge is to CLE, and that GTECH hasn't seen Clark this year, i really like CLE here. They have the better bullpen, as well.
As far as the GTECH/CLE total goes, i really lean to the Under14 +115 here......both teams will be tight the first few innings, IMO and with Wood for GTECH (4-0 2.44 ERA postseason lifetime) vs. Clark who has been very good (knock on wood...lol...) and GTECH hasn't seen him....i think this may be a little more like the 3-2 game they played in the ACC tourney. Throw out the games where all the scrubs pitched the 19 day in a row game (like that kid on your little league team who pitched the 3rd game of the week during the 1 week you played an extra game and couldn't get anyone out)......and you had Hyde vs. Faris (3-2 final) and Wood vs. Cribbs (7-6 final).....both games with 2 quality starters (each teams either 1 or 2 vs. the other's 1 or 2) stayed under 14 runs....leaning very hard to making this a play....
IMO, the money has been made already in the WCWS and the Regionals...these are some very good teams and it is tough to gauge who wins these games.....not a lot of edges in them
NCAR/CSUF Under9 1/2...................NCAR ranks in the top15 in both pitching and hitting. NCAR will throw Lefty Andrew Miller (first team all-american) 13-2 2.11 ERA and 119K's (2-0 2.40 ERA in postseason 2006). He has allowed less than 2 ER's in 11 of his 16 starts and 1 or less ER's in 8 of 16 starts. He has allowed only 6 doubles and 1HR in 110 innings this year. He was drafted 6th by larry's DET this year. Hovis for UNC will back him up with a national best 1.28 ERA (0.55 ERA over his last 33 innings) and sports a .189 BAVG against. CSUF will throw Roemer 13-1 w/1.97 ERA with a freeking AMAZING 134K's and only 6 BB's in 141 innings. He is flat out sick and is only a sophomore. Backing him up will be Pestano out of the CSUF pen with 13 saves and a really shitty 0.97 ERA. I don't see how you could look anything but Under here. Especially with early nerves, i think the advantage goes to the pitchers, with neither of these teams having seen one another. CSUF is #1 and NCAR #8 in team ERA in the nation. CSUF is also 6th in fielding percentage. One other note that may be important is that CSUF didn't hit a single homerun in their 5 postseason games this year. This going up against a pitcher who has only given 1 up in 110 innings (knock on wood...lol) and CSUF is going to have to string some hits together to score runs. And that may be easier said than done vs. Miller who allows very few extra base hits, if any most games. NCAR also has a very reliable bullpen (see late inning stats below), as does CSUF. May add some Units to this tomorrow.
BEWARE before you lay the -207 with CSUF. NCAR is a top 15 hitting team and this kid is lights out for NCAR (knock on wood...lol). If this thing turns into a pitcher's dual (which i hope it does) NCAR could easily steal this game.......they are 82nd in fielding percentage vs. CSUF's 6th, so any errors are maginfied in a tight game and that is why i still ever so slightly lean to CSUF. NCAR has a very reliable pen and when leading after 6innings is 40-2, 44-0 after 7innings and 47-0 after 8innings.
This side of the bracket is a flat out biatch.......i think 4 of the top5 teams are on this side (Rice on the other side....)

He pitched well, but as i said, CLE had the much better pen and that's the difference between being 80th in ERA and 5th.......tonight's game i am hoping will be a great pitcher's game...i usually don't like 2-1 games, but both these guys are sick and i just hope they are on. ah, what do you do drigger.....guy for UNC had given up 1 HR in 110 innings and CSUF hit none the past 2 weekends and CSUF hits 2 already today......Roemer gives up 4 in the first 2 innings.....that is why i flat bet 95 percent of the time...even though a game may look great on paper, they still have to play the game....i thought that was the best play of the 3 i made today (CLE, CLE Under and CSUF Under).......

RICE #2seed vs. UGA#7seed at 11AM PST.......and MIA vs. OREST#6seed at 4PM PST......
NEED TO CONFIRM PITCHING MATCHUPS.........but unless anything changes, i will play.......
RICE -230........................just can't look at UGA here. UGA starting pitching has absolutely gotten murdered this postseason, though, they do have a great bullpen. RICE SHOULD (still looking for confirmation) throw Eddie Degerman who is 10th in the NCAA's with a 1.81 ERA. Backing him up in the pen is Cole St. Clair who sports 11 saves and a 1.81 ERA. These 2 are 5/6 nationally in K/9innings. RICE is 4th in ERA, 21st in fielding percentage, 21st in scoring, 21st in BAVG. UGA is a dismal 117th in ERA and 48th in Fiedling percentage. Offensively, they are a very capable team but rank 45th in runs and 49th in scoring. They will most likely toss Brooks Brown tomorrow. I personally think UGA is the weakest of the 8 teams here in Omaha.
I personally think the RICE/UGA game is a 12-7 type of game and really favor the Over14 in this one......In ffact i think that the ball may be flying around the park here in this one. Even Fields and Warren weren't immune to giving up runs for UGA in their Regionals games......
most likely will play OREST tomorrow.....just too much pitching and defense for MIA, IMO. Best line is at Pinny at -193...want to confirm pitching matchups there too.....
GL to everyone!

RICE.....:yeah: ......what a bizarre game that went nothing like i thought it would...... Brown for UGA was unhittable....St. Clair gets lit up out of the pen for RICE, then Warren comes back to get lit up for UGA out of the pen.....2 of the best bullpen guys in college baseball cough up runs in the late innings.......freeking Degerman with a no hitter through 6 1/3, but walks NINE guys......
at any rate, RICE comes through......
1-0 +2Units.......
Love OREST in the late one....they are the only team back from last year's CWS and their 2 top pitchers were here last year too....they didn't do well and i think they are a sleeper to win that bracket......will post an official play in about an hour after i grab some grub.....

Horatio- THX!...
OREST -190 (1Unit)...................looks like some late money in on MIA, but i am not sure why. I have looked at this game backwards and forwards and still think OREST is the play. OREST will throw Dallas Buck (12-2, 3.03ERA) vs. MIA (can't find the starter...MIA has just an awful website for information...but all 3 have over 4.20 ERA's). Gunderson will back up Buck out of the pen with a 2.34ERA. OREST is 14th in team ERA and 13th in Fielding percentage, while MIA is 79th ERA and 46th Fielding percentage. Both offenses are very comparable.....OREST 42nd in scoring and MIA is 52nd.....Buck pitched 8innings and only gave up 3ER vs. Stanford in the first game of the Super Regional. Stan came in swinging some red hot bats from the Regional and OREST pitching and defense completely shut them down (4-3, 15-0) in the series. That is what i am expecting tonight. Plus i feel the X factor is experience. The whole team just did this last year so they know what to expect (only team from last year here this year). Buck is a Junior and has pitched in this stadium before which i feel is an advantage, too. Just think that pitching and defense has won so far and i am going with the better pitching and defensive team.......

THX!....had my best season ever last year in CFB....about 63-64 percent.....my best sports are the NHL, CFB, CWS/WCWS and CBB......i suck at most of the pro sports like the NFL, NBA and MLB...(knock on wood)...i usually turn a good profit in the NHL, CBB, CWS and CFB every year.

Horatio- yeah, i am going to make a pick tonight....lol....after all....
i really thought about this when i saw the line and i like.....
OREST +125.......................OREST is now 5-0 (knock on wood...lol) in elimination games this postseason. UNC is coming off their first loss of the tourney and is playing in their first elimination game. I like the fact that OREST has had their backs against the wall multiple times this tourney, while this is really the first do or die "pressure" situation for UNC. Lets face it, everyone is available tonight to pictch for both teams, so pitching isn't really a big issue. I like the momentum from OREST come from behind win last night (UNC had a 5-0 lead through 4 1/2 innings and could smell a title with their great pen), too. OREST could very well have won game 1 and this thing could be over, so not sure why all the love from the oddsmakers on UNC. I expect Nickerson to be able to throw tonight (3 days rest) and he is their best pitcher, IMO. OREST exploded for 16 runs vs. Stanford to clinch the super regionals and has more than enough offense, defense and pitching to win this. Well worth a shot at +125.....in all honesty, the game is probably a toss up, but the momentum and the elimination record of OREST vs. UNC not having been in this position is what lands me on OREST.
