First play in awhile.

Edmonton vowed to tighten up their defence and with Cam Ward still hot in net.

4 Units -119
Under 6.

End of regulation! Though I don't get why the complete game is only -111 for the under. I would pay that extra 8$ just in case of a 3-3 tie or any other case that might happen!

Drigger- GL!....i just can't get into the hockey....it's almost the 4th of July and we are still playing....i think the playoffs need to end at the end of May at the latest. The season just goes too long....baseball is 7 months, hoops 8 and hockey is 9+ months...anyway, hope it hits for you...i haven't watched any of the games in about 3+ weeks so i don't have a clue right now....but sounds good...

Hey FF!

I have watched the game but this is the first Hockey bet I have made since like the game 1 of the 2nd round. I bet on the sabres but really never got into it either. I just watched the games but never really cared.

I never really bet cause I never liked a line. I still take a look of the lines from time to time but I never really bet. I have been really busy so I haven't even gotten a chance to really get into baseball either. I will try to post a little more!

I hope this last one will cash for me! Then i'll call it a year maybe!

How bleak is the future of hockey if two fans like you guys don't give a rats ass about the Stanley Cup. Not busting on you guys, just making a comment. It is not good......

The Olympics caused this long season, I am guessing.

BB - I am not actually sure why. I guess a couple of things for me. Probably first of all the Canucks are out and not really much to cheer for after that.

I don't like Edmonton cause my friend is all over them and keeps like bugging me about it. I don't Carolina. So really I comes down to... I dislike Carolina more than I dislike Edmonton! So go Edmonton I guess!

Also I guess the Olympics puts a strain on it. Additionally this year has been tougher with the SO and new rule changes. Seem to be on the losing end of most of them. Kinda sucks and that eventually takes it toll from all that frustration!

Also, I have been really busy lately and haven't gotten time to really watch games or really research into games. I am starting to open up a little more time and I hope to start posting on the baseball forum!

Lets get this one!

Edmonton did as they said they would.

Cut down the open ice and played more defensively. However, they did not cut down the parade to the box. They were still penalized quiet a lot in this game. Both sides for that matter.

But excellent goaltending from Jussi M. as well as Cam Ward.

1-0 +4 Units!

Probably call it from here. Under in game 4 but I'm not liking it that much. I still see the same type of game. Under 6 (regulation time) but we'll see what happens when the line comes out!

The future is nowhere near as bleak as people seem to believe. The game is better, the salary structure is better. Revenues were up this year and attendance increased all around the league.

TV ratings may suck, but the future of the NHL is far from bleak.

that's the thinking that is going to keep the NHL right where it is for years to come in terms of popularity. I went to half a dozen ANA games and i can tell you the place wasn't 2/3 full for any of them. Same with the LAK games, so i am still not sure where this record attendence stat is coming from the NHL. And this is where you bring in the casual fan and get him hooked....with playoff hockey. No one gives a shit about these playoffs right now. It's summertime. BBQ's, kids graduating from HS and college, family vacations, golf after work because it stays light until 8:30 right now.....it's not "sit in front of my tv and watch a winter sport" time....if hockey was meant to be played in late June, it would be part of the summer olympics, not the winter olympics. I tried to put the hockey game on at my folks house over memorial day at a family get together and everyone laughed that they were still playing hockey at the end of May....no one wanted to watch it...they would rather watch a meaningless baseball game. But the NHL is stubborn and won't change. So they will go on having like 4 people watch the finals of their sport which is really sad. Heck, i haven't watched a game in 3 weeks and i am about as big a fan as you can get. Look at this forum, it has been dead for a month....no one is even looking at the threads as evidence by the thread counts. Your Finals should be the culmination of your season, the best hockey of the year....where you draw in the casual viewer and make him a fan for next year......not a winter sport being played the same weekend as father's day and 2 weeks before the freekin' 4th of July. Next year will be the big year when the "newness" of the league coming back is gone. I do agree, though, Angelus that the game itself is great. But if you ever want the sport to grow, it has to move beyond people like drigger, you and me. It has to reach the people like my family that wanted no part of it 2 weeks ago. And you aren't going to do that by having the best part of your playoffs in May and June.....just too much else to do this time of the year.

anyway, Oilcan isn't done...hope they pull it out for you and all those crazy EDM fans....

I don't know if anyone saw the National Anthems yesterday at Edmonton, but someone should put that out on video. Easily the second best (after the W Houston Super Bowl during the first Gulf War) NA moment I have seen. All those Canadians singing both anthems ....LOUD.... it was great.

Check it out in Gm 4.
