I'm going to buck the trend tonight and play Phoenix-Dallas to go under 224. Phoenix and Dallas have been overs machines lately, but 224 may be a little too high.
Check this quote out: Asked Thursday what his defense did wrong, Johnson said ``transition defense`` seven times in a row.
If Dallas holds on to win game one, I wouldn't think that it would've been as good of a play. But since the Mavs lost, I expect every player to buy into Avery's message. Slow down the Suns, slow down the tempo. I doubt both teams will shoot 50% or better tonight, like they did in game one. Dallas will spend more energy on defense and hustling back on defense. That means less energy spent sprinting in offensive transition and on the offensive boards (players will be less inclined to hammer the boards since they'll be thinking about getting back).
Sounds like Kurt Thomas may play for Phoenix. If that happens, I expect Phoenix's defense to improve quite a bit.
