Half man got me thinking about the Awards after all his talk backing Jagr for the Hart. So....I want to see what everyone thinks....post your picks here. I'll stick to the big 5 awards...

Hart
Gotta go with Thornton. Lead the league, ignited the team, made Cheechoo a superstar.....he is the man. Runner up... Jagr. Awesome bounce back year for Czech superstar. Team full of Czech's and the year playing in Europe re-energized him, beacuse his heart was always the only question.

Norris
I like Niedermeyer. Everytime I watch a Ducks game, he amazes me with the level of his play, the skating, the confidence, the passing. He makes everyone around him a hell of alot better. The Ducks don't make the playoff without him. Runner up... Lidstrom. Can't argue with the year the veteran has had, still one of the best.

Adams
This is the toughest one to call, with Buffalo, NYR, and Carolina all having unexpected turnaround years. But my pick is Lindy Ruff. Unbelievable job what he did with that team full of youngsters. They bought into his speed game, and had a great year. They also had a stratch of terrible injury problems if you remember, but never lost a step. Runner up.... Tom Renney Great job turning around that disaster.

Calder
Best list of rookies, maybe ever with the double cohort year. It has to be Ovechkin. You can't argue with the stats, although i think Crosby AND Phaneuf are better all-around players. Runner up... Crosby The better 2-way player, and leader.

Vezina
I think Kippersof is still the best goalie in the league, single-handily getting the Flames to the top 1/4 of the NHL standings. This team could not score, but it usually didn't matter. Runner up... Brodeur Got hot at the right time.

Hart - Jaromir Jagr. Best player in the world, plain and simple.

Norris - Niklas Lidstrom. Because he's Lidstrom and everyone sucks him off.

Adams - Lindy Ruff. Renney had it, but the team fell apart.

Calder - Alexandr Ovechkin. I honestly feel like every time he touches the puck he's gonna score.

Vezina - Mikka Kipprasoff. I love Brodeur and the Devils, Kippra was the best this year.
