I had taking an exacta for the world cup
italy 1st and usa 2nd. 1 unit to 7.5units
thinking about taking some others
any suggestions?

Not a bad choice there but a very tough group. Give me a few weeks and I'll have a breakdown on all the groups. Things are still in motion for all teams as players haven't been officially announced yet for there respective teams. I'm sure WildBill will have his feelings as well.

World Rankings means nothing. Here's another ranking system besides the FIFA WC rankings. According to the Elo ratings US is the 3rd best team in there group. It's a tight group but it's a really hard one to predict. There are so many combinations that could wind up.

Not in a million years would I pick (edit: Italy and the USA ) to meet in the finals. You've really got to look at the second round matchups. For example:

two good teams in England and Sweden should make it out of group B but the runner up will have to face Germany in the next game, assuming Germany wins their relatively easy group.

USA might not even make it out of their group. I definately can't see the Czech Rep not advancing there so USA will probably battle with Italy.

For your Italy first, USA second bet to win the Czechs would have to be eliminated in the group stage. 1 to win 7.5 isnt nearly enough.

ALSO, for that to come true one of the two would have to beat Brazil in the second round.

Benrik - I think he meant 1st and 2nd in group play not overall. That's what I though he meant.

oh..haha. woops. well i suppose thats possible but I dont know how the Czechs would not win that group.

for the record I did mean: Italy first and USA second, out of the group. Number one you can't deny that USA is starting to become a team that can do things now....I think the Czech's are over rated....Italy is my team!!!! I still think it is a good call and anything is possible... .you know!!
