7-3 last night.
MLB THURSDAY PICKS
Texas -107 ---- 2 Units
I actually like Nate Robertson of the Tigers, but a matchup of Robertson vs. Dickey.... this one should get turned over to the pens in the 5th or 6th. I'll take my chances with Texas's offense against Det's pen as opposed to the Tigers offense vs the Rangers pen.

Dickey, seriously, thats why guys don't throw the knuckleball.
How do guys like that have a job?
Ranger's bats are struggling right now. I really do like Robertson, he doesn't walk guys, deascent stuff.... but I didn't think he was good enough to keep putting 0's on the board tonight.

ADDING:
OAK/SEA OVER 8 ----- 2 Units
Loaiza is a nice addition to what I think may be the best staff in the league. The AL is a different beast than pitching for the Nationals last year though.
Loaiza posted a 3.77 ERA last year, good job. But, this year I would think it will be in the 4.25 area.... Get that started tonight by giving up 3 or 4.
Meche had a 5.09 ERA last year. No reason to think that won't be the case this year either.
I'm not liking Mark Ellis hitting in the 3 hole for Oakland, not much protection for Chavez. BUT..... it's Gil Meche. Chavez, Johnson, Bradley, Swisher... they can put up some runs against him.
I look for a 7-5, 8-7 type ballgame.

0-1-1 on the night.
Gil Meche with a solid start.
I don't like Oakland's lineup at the top. They need to Ellis out of the 3 hole. I don't get that lineup.

I didnt like Oakland's lineup at all. Do they have injuries right now? If not, I dont see how they can compete for the division or even the wild card.

Crosby is out right now.
They have Bradley, Payton, Swisher batting 6, 7, 8. Ellis is batting 3rd.
Why not put chavez 3rd. have it be:
scutaro- 1-3 tonite couple walks, scrappy player
kotsay- experience batting 2nd
chavez- easily there best hitter
bradley- professional hitter, at .357 right now
johnson- not starting well, but potentially a nice bat
payton- veteran
swisher- needs to step up and be a full time guy
ellis- if he's a supposed 3 hole hitter, he'd be amazing 8th
melhuse- he's a catcher, who cares
that looks a ton better than the lineup they had tonight. I might give Billy a call, tell him to figure things out. LOL
