Still riding the wave, and loving it...
Yesterdays ARI/COL o/u was a late April Fools day joke on the bookies, today' ARI/COL o/u is an early xmas gift to us!
MLB
.5 Unit STL/PHI UNDER 10.5
Marquis was solid last year and just keeps getting better. His spring was a knock out, posting a 1.96 ERA, but last year he had a 9.00 ERA against the Phils. He owns Abreu, and should own most of theYoung Phillies today, Rollins will probably get his hit, but I am only concerned with who crosses the plate, not who's on first. Lidle, in his own right, has been lights out against the Cards! He pitched 11 Innings last year against them and let up a mere 2 Earned Runs, good for a 1.59 ERA. His spring was mediocre with a 4.60 ERA. I can't say who will win this game, but I can say, with a good amount of certainty, that the totals will stay UNDER 10.5!
1.3 Units CIN
I can see why everyone is riding the Reds today. Their bats are all in sync and they are putting runs on the board, and Freel is pocketing bases, putting himself in scoring position! Claussen is gonna turn a lot of heads this year too. Lets look at him last year, 20 Innings Pitched against PIT, he let up 4 runs, good for a 1.74 ERA against the Bucs. He did well in the spring too, posting a 3.81 ERA. Snell is a fresh face and it was hard to dig up info on him, but I can tell you that he got smacked around over the spring laying up a 5.27 ERA.
2 Units ARI/COL UNDER 10.5
I was all over the under yesterday at 11, and I don't care about losing the half point here! Batista scares me a bit (his ERA at Coors is 9.55), and thats why I am only putting 2 Units here, instead of 3 like yesterday. Batista played well during the spring, well enough to comfort me in the UNDER. Francis threw to the tune of a 3.45 ERA last year against his foes, and a 5.54 ERA in the spring. The pitchers aren't aces here, but you know what, the teams aren't filled with bats so I am never going to be worried to take the UNDER when these 2 teams square off, regardless of where they play, or who is on the mound, if the total is 8 or more, I am all over the UNDER
NBA
1 Unit CHA/NJ UNDER 192
NJ has been playing at all cylinders lately, and I don't see that changing against a bobcat team who only managed to score triple digits 4 times in their last 11 games on the road, and the 4 games were against, POR, PHX, UTA and CLE, not the best defensive teams in the league. Not only that BUT, these 2 teams have faced eachother 4 times already this year with the totals playing 171, 181, 174, and 189. I take the UNDER with the Nets playing some home D!
3 Units DET
MIA has some hurting guys on the team, and I expect Pat Riley to rest those guys, they will play, just not a lot. MIA is filled with guys with big egos, and easily bruised ones too. If they lost this game playing all their guys, they would go into the playoffs fearing the Pistons, if they lose to DET, with their better players watching some of the game from the bench, when they meet in the playoffs, they will have a good sense of confidence. Thats only the underlying reasoning of my bet here! MIA has lost 12 of the last 15 meetings between the 2, including 3 out of 4 this year! Chauncy wants the MVP and the team will not give up until he has it. DET is going for the single season wins record for the franchise and they need a couple more wins for home court advantage. The ONLY thing Miami has going for them, is they are playing at home. Just too many signs pointing towards a DET blow out here!
