Here we go! 2 units each.
Carolina -1 -112
Here it is. My first -1 play. It brings down the juice from -180 to -112. In some cases I can see it not being worth it, but I like it here. If the Canes come out and play how FF thinks they will, they'll win by 2 or more. If they lose, then I'm not crying as much.
Columbus +100
The Jackets are a much better team than St. Louis. Lalime sucks. 'Nuff said.
Colorado +154
Calgary has lost 5 of their last 8. They're just back off a long road trip and barely beat a bad Kings team. I look for this to be their let-down game. At worst, this is a coin flip. Hopefully it lands on the +154 side. Sidenote: Tough two game stretch for the Flames. If they lose tonight and tomorrow against Edmonton, suddenly their on the playoff bubble. Die Calgary die!!!
I will probably add Canucks/Wild Under on later. Also looking really hard at Pittsburgh +209. Somebody on another forum said the Islanders are 1-10 when favorites of -200 or more. I don't know if that's true...but sure is tempting. Also, anyone have any thoughts on Chicago +1.5 +160? The Wings played last night. There could be a lot of value there...
YTD: 126-119-4, +37.43 units.

angelus- GL!.....i see you got your 5d account......i really like those +1's and -1's because there is no difference in losing between that and the ML....you just get a push if they win by 1.....i did that for the PHI/OTT game and instead of playing X units at -200 or so, i played 2X at like -130.......CAR is a strong play 2night, i really believe that......FLA isn't going to go undefeated the rest of the year and the fact is that they haven't beaten a playoff caliber team on the road in 5 weeks (knock on wood...lol)....they are 0-3 in CAR and Gerber is 14-1 L15 at home since DEC....added bonus that Stumpel is out tonight ....he has been on fire and is 2nd on the team in points....and CAR still has the best home record in the NHL.....GL! on all those...not a big "value play" guy, as i think in a lot of value plays there isn't the value that is perceived, but i do like your COL play....getting +154 against a team that is 4th to last in the NHL in scoring is a good play, IMO. Probably the safest bet would be COL +1...hope they all cash....

Yeah, I finally got my 5Dimes account. They have so many lines...it's insane!
I currently have balances with like 8 books. I line shop like crazy. I'm really big on that. If you pay attention, you can see the lines I post in my threads are usually better than those posted by everyone else. Getting the best line is extremely important to me. Anyway, the point I was getting to is that I cashed out the book I use the least and transferred the funds into 5Dimes. Looking forward to what they have to offer.

Not that it matters now that the game has started, but my lean would have been under with Luongo and Gerber in goal. But I didn't like it enough to bet it....obviously.

Crap. All the ones I was debating (Pitts ML, Pens/Isles Under, Chicago +1.5) are all looking really good right now. It seems like whenever I lay off, I would have won. And when I add on, I lose.

i said screw it and played everything i wanted to last saturday and went 6-0....you have to play the plays that are solid....i had a guy in vegas help me out with hockey capping a couple years back and he told me that it isn't about how many plays you make or don't make, it's which ones you make or don't make. don't debate plays......it is either a solid play or it isn't....if you can't make a clear case for playing something, then don't kick yourself if it wins...because in the long run, you are better off not playing marginal plays....but don't ever leave anything off your card that you feel you have an edge in.....if it is solid, play it...if it isn't and you can't convince yourself that it is solid, then don't get upset if it comes in....bad plays win and good plays lose...you can't judge a play always by the outcome.....but seriously....anything you needed to debate with yourself wasn't strong enough to play...win or lose.....GL!

Thats pretty good advice. I dont know how many times, in bball especially, I just wanted the action so I made a 50/50 play. I definately lost more than 50% though because they just weren't smart plays. Now I'm learning to lay off if I dont get a very strong feeling.

That's good advice. I try to limit my plays to a few a day...but it's probably just as hard to pick seven winning plays in one day as it is to pick one winning play for seven straight days.
