well, my initial thoughts are that i don't like a ton right now.....i unloaded on PHI Saturday and may step back a bit today...and i haven't played anything yet......things that jumped out at first glance.....

DAL -165................CAL wrapping up the 7 game road trip and this is the 2nd best time to play against a team.....long roadie...teams are looking forward to being home and sometimes the focus isn't there....DAL is only 6 points behind Detroit for the top spot in the NHL......they are really playing well right now....Turco has like an 8-1-2 1.61GAA lifetime stats vs. CAL. going to be low scoring, though, IMO as the total is set at 5.......1-0, 3-2 and 2-1 are the previous finals with DAL 1-1 in CAL and 1-0 at home.....DAL has allowed 2 goals in each of its last 4 home games...bodes pretty well for an under and a side play on DAL....and they are 11-0 in SO's, so you have the OT edge....

NJD...................TOR has to just be about out of gas after being swept in Montreal and seeing their playoff chances slipping away. Brodeur had the night off vs. BOS and should be fresh for this game. TOR has done absolutely nothing 5 on 5 in the last few games. NJD broke up their top line to add some more scoring punch and it seems to be working. TOR played last night and 3I4 for them.....maybe play NJD -1 at 5 dimes....might lay the -200...we'll see

PIT +1 1/2..............MON coming off 2 huge home wins and played last night. IF i can get abeschir in net tonight for MON...i may take a stab with PIT. They haven't been playing all that poorly and take away the big offensive efforts vs. Toronto that is the Loyola Marymount of defense in the NHL, and they still don't have all that great an offense.....see a 3-2 type game, so maybe the under 7 juiced at 5 dimes or just the under 6 1/2....or PIT +1 1/2...don't want MON here, though....bad spot for them, IMO. PIT is 3-0 vs. MON this year and will try and sweep them for the first time ever.....

EDM/COL.........reports are that EDM sent the backup goalie to COL and will get the start vs. the avalanche.....not sure what i think of this one...EDM coming off an emotional win in a game they expended a lot of energy...now they take the road to play COL who barely beat STLouis on Saturday......these teams have put up some goals, but that was pre COL injuries....might look at EDM and the +1 1/2

SAN/CHI...need to see who is in net for SAN...if toskala, i am probably going to look under here.....may also look at CHI +1 1/2...i know SAN is going to look like a great play...but keep in mind...teams don't win every night out....DET lost to CBJ saturday at home......SAN played Saturday and 3I4....they may be a little low on the energy tank....so don't chalk this one up as a W for SAN so easily...just like Atlanta looked so easy on Saturday vs. NYI.......

as you can see, not really sold on anything...i will see what 5 dimes offers tomorrow and probably not post anything until then.....

Kings center Roenick breaks ankle against Preds

LOS ANGELES -- Jeremy Roenick's disappointing season has come to an early end.

The Los Angeles Kings announced the veteran center suffered a fractured ankle in Saturday's game against the Nashville Predators.

Roenick sustained the injury with 9:47 remaining in the second period and had to be helped off the ice. The team did not disclose which ankle he injured.

In his first season with the Kings following an offseason trade with the Philadelphia Flyers, Roenick has been a major disappointment, recording a career-low eight goals and just 10 assists in 48 games. He has a minus-7 rating after entering the campaign with a career mark of plus-185.

The 36-year-old Roenick, a nine-time All-Star, has 483 goals and 655 assists in 1,172 career games with Chicago, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

yeah, i was watching the game....he is washed up and the new NHL wasn't kind to him....he is slow and the days of muscle hockey are gone......he never was a flashy player...just used to spot up in front of the net and bully people on the PP.....he is a non-factor from a performance standpoint....and the kings have norstrom and robitaille for a locker room presence, so good riddence....he stinks...worst free agent signing in the history of hockey, IMO.....

Alright...so I've looked over the games & lines, and I really don't like anything tomorrow. The only thing I'm leaning to is the Over in the Dallas/Calgary game. The total is set at 5, the juice is low...from what I've noticed, afternoon games have had the tendency to go over this year. I don't really have the stats to back that up...

Edmonton/Colorado is interesting as both team's will be flying into Denver late tonight. FF is right when he said that Conklin was sent to Colorado ahead of the team...so I'd expect him to start. The Oil don't play so well in Denver, so I'd lean towards the Avs in this one (especially with Conklin in goal)...but the juice is too high for me to bet against my team. I think the Over may hit with two tired teams out there...

Nothing else I really like...

i think i may just play DAL......only allowing 2 goals in each of their L4 home games.....CAL is the 4th lowest scoring team in the NHL.....don't see much offense in this one from CAL and see a 3-1, 3-2 type game....DAL is 11-0 in SO and needs these points as bad as CAL.....CAL playing last road game in a long road trip which is a huge play against situation....DAL looks like my play....will see what 5 dimes is offering in the AM and post then....

Flyers fan. Great job men. To go 6-0 is something else, especially in hockey. I had a discussion with a friend of mine in my house about which sport is the most difficult to bet at and he mentioned hockey. He said it is unpredictable, any team can beat anyteam. Great job men. I don't want to jinx your grea roll but about the Calgary game, I think you will see a much hungrier Calgary team that wants the game more than Dallas does. I think if you played the + 1 1/2 that would be best thing. It will be close game. Kiprusove and Turco, it smells like a 2-1 game for sure.

nader- THX!.....good thoughts.....DAL is only 6 points out of the best record in the league and i would argue that this is a bigger game for DAL since it is a home game and they can't afford to not get points at home....everyone has different goals this time of the year, and they are equally important to all teams, even though they may be different....and you will never catch me playing a team in its first home game back after a roadie or a team in its last game of a long roadie....those are historically awful performing spots for teams.....just ask Carolina on Saturday....money burners....i ignore a lot of trends, but that isn't one of them.....and you have to look at CAL playing 3I4 on the road at the end of the road trip....that is draining....great thoughts none the less.......we just see this one a little different.....if CAL wins, i can say i won't be kicking myself for playing DAL.....i agree on the Under as a good play...especially with the series history this year....

Really like the Devils today.
Leaf nation has cashed in their chips after two blowoout losses to the Habs. Jersey should be rested.

Also...wasn't Roenick a trade not a FA signing? I thought theyb traded him outta Philly after they signed Forsberg.
