Memphis - Weak #1??

As far as I remember (maybe 7-8 years, I know some of you guys may remember 15-20 yrs), I cannot remember a #1 seed that was as weak as Memphis... Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're a weak team.. They have some victories against top notch squads and played a solid one against UAB, but for a #1 seed I think there are SEVERAL teams that will be competitive with them. I haven't seen too many Memphis final four selections and they're odds @ 10/1 to win the big dance seem out of whack with the other #1 teams... Opinions?

they have a LOT of young talent.Their youth is their real liability, but their record is not bogus.
With kids this young, you are going to have some lame moments, as Kansas fans realized after hitting the panic button too early on their very talented, but very young, team.
Youth can also be an asset, however, in that they can play with less of a sense of concern than upperclassmen- dominated teams. A double edged sword that could go either way. I suspect they go as Carney goes.:gulp:

I am on Memphis as well. However I dont like Washington. They played terrible in the PAC10 tournament and it seems as mr. ROY needs to play like mr. jordan for them to beat UConn. I think Utah State will give them fits. GL

memphis has the easiest road to the final 4 imo. i have them as my champ. so many weapons so much talent. well coached as well.

easiest road .. i'd say Duke ... they wont play anyone until the elite 8

Memphis has a roadblock in the 2nd round if they meet Arkansas, Ronnie BRewer will cause some problems for them, and if they get past that I dont know if they can beat Pitt/Kansas

as for Washington, I think they are over-rated IMO ... Roy is good but thats it, they are my 5 seed I see going out in the 1st round out of the other 5's ... I see Pitt rolling Kent, Nevada beats Montana, and Syracuse/A & M should be a good game, but I think both of those teams stink

Memphis as an over-rated team... I wouldnt say that at all, maybe under the radar ... They have an explosive offense with incredible guards, and they did the job all season winning games... I really dont like their draw at all though...

but this is March.... let the Madness begin........

Are you serious Willi? That's your chanpionship game for real? Geez, I think UW gets all they can handle from Utah State and if the squeak that one out, they get handled pretty easily by Illinois. Good defense always beats good offense (and the Huskies aren't nearly as potent as last year anyway). As for Memphis, I have Arkansas dumping them in the second round. I could see Memphis winning that game, but then I don't see them beating Kansas or UCLA to make it to the Final Four.

What kind of coach doesnt go to the conference tournament to win? He suspended Adams to send a message, not because he doesn't care about the tournament. Arizona and Washington were both already in the tournament but I think it's a stretch to say that the coaches dont go there to win. I think that UCLA is the only strong team in the PAC 10. It is why they dominated the conference tournament and will do well in the NCAA's.
