Trying to pick my spots in the NHL, only playing strong plays here and there. Well...here's a spot...
Hurricanes -1.5 Goals +168 at Panthers
Laying 2 units on the Carolina offence. They can light it up, and hopefully cover the 2 goals. Florida played last night giving up 50 shots to Tampa. They give up that many shots to Carolina, and it could be a touchdown win for the storm. With Luongo facing that barrage last night I would also expect to see back-up Mclennan between the pipes for the cats.

If Luongo doesn't start, I like this play.

Good Luck JML,
I'm on the same side.....But according to the Raleigh News-Observer, I just noticed that Luongo is the projected starter for this game. Hopefully, he'll be exhausted and will let a couple of soft ones in!

Roberto Luongo, Florida Panthers - Luongo is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Hurricanes, reports the Raleigh News-Observer.
edit: Beaten.

Either way I like the play. He faced 50 shots in an OT win, less than 24 hours ago, in a different city. Almost like the play more. Dumb coaching decision. What are backup goaltenders for??
Might add a 3rd unit!

Yeah, but Luongo faces 50 shots every night.
With Luongo/Gerber starting, I kind of like the under in this one. Gerber is 3-0, 1.01 GAA, .962 SV%, including 2 SO's against Florida this year.

Not true, remember defence first Jacques Martin is now the FLA coach. Luongo averages 33.04 shots against a game this year, which even in this more wide-open NHL is actually substantially down from 2004.
I hope he starts.

Yeah, that was said tongue-in-cheek. Whether Luongo plays well or not...I still think Carolina -1.5 is a good play.
