What sites do you guys play on? (Kevin if mentioning poker rooms that arn't sponsors here isn't cool, just delete this)
I play mostly on Ultimate Bet and Paradise. I stick to 5/10 limit short handed cash games. love the action there.
I've also been doing well with short handed sit n go no limits (30+3's).
Good luck at the tables gentlemen:thumbs:

I never play any online poker- except the UC tourneys LOL... I heard that Bodog has a nice poker room... the one we used- Paradise was fine- saw no problems.

Thanks guys. Although I wasn't really looking for help, i've been playing online for about 3 years now and have shifted through most of the sites, and finally settled on Ultimate Bet because I like the interface there and also the short handed games and sit n go's. I also use Paradise Poker because I can transfer money there directly from my Sportsbook.com account.
I was just curious because I thought maybe some of us have sat down together, or played in the same tourneys, thats all.

I have actually played at all of the poker sites.
I like party poker
empire poker use to use party poker but now has branched off and are on their own so empire poker doesnt have half as many players as they once did so you have to wait a little while to get a tourney going. especially the bigger tourneys but the chances of winning are better because you dont have as many players
for example a 30 tourney might have 300 players but on party poker might have 1000 players. bigger pot
pacific poker is a good site not a ton of players their either. but I am sure in time more and more players will get on board of these sites.
ultimatebet is a good site too.

I think I need to place this. alot of people think that these poker sites are rigged including myself.
collusion- where two people chat amoung themselves as they play using I/M or phone. raising and forcing other players out of pots.
also cards not being random.
and suspect of robot players.
all is unproven but suspect. if you are looking to have fun and play a few hands of cards or enjoy a tourney all of these sites are great place to play but to look to make a living be cautious.
good luck
I have had a few bad beats in my time
one that stands out
had pocket qs
on a no limit game 400 no limit table heads up
other player had pocket 7s
pre flop he raised me 50 I reraised him another 50 so there is 100 of my dollars in the pot already
the flop comes it is crap cards. dont remember but I know the highest was a jack so I felt pretty good. I bet 125 to take the pot.
called me
so now i have 225 in the pot with 175 left
turn comes it was another crap card still highest card was a jack
i go all in thinking I had best hand at this point
he calls so now my 400 is in the pot
with his pocket 7s no trips yet
then on the river comes a 7
for him to win my $400 dollars and I walk away pissed as hell.

Rethumor- I highly recommend UltimateBet. I play there all the time, mostly $30 6 handed sit-n-goes. They are my favorite and a new one starts every 5 minutes or so. I used to play alot on partypoker but I felt there were way too many fish on that site and to get a true cash game you had to play 5-10 minimum.
I would suggest you take advantage of their 100% deposit bonus, there is a thread here in this forum. UltimateBet also has a feature I love called UltimateBuddy, which is basically a buddy list for people who play on UltimateBet. They automatically give you Hellmuth, Anne Duke, and others names so you can watch them play, or do what I like to do and when you play against a horrible player, put them on your list and always try and sit at their table!
I play there under ThaDarkness...if you sign up come find me

Puppett-
Regarding your post on the validity of true play online, I'd like to offer a couple thoughts:
1. Best Practices - The people who run these sites (Party, UB, Pacific...etc.) are interested in generating rake and rake only. It is not in the best practices of their company to favor players, have robot players, etc. If they ever were caught doing this not only would they be sued, they would lose all their business. They generate so much money on rake and tourney fees there is no reason for them to screw around. Some are even publicly traded companies (party poker) and are interested in being ethical business people.
2. Collusion - You'd have to be extremely naieve to believe this doesn't go on. However its fairly easy to detect, and poker sites often suspend, or kick out players they are suspiceous of doing this. I know because I know a guy who used to do this alot, and the poker site contacted him and threatened to suspend his account. Also, it can work in your advantage, because in a limit game if you have a great hand, or the nuts, the pot will keep being raised for you.
3. Cards not being random - This is a general thought shared by alot of people, however I feel it is just a product of the number of hands you see. People go on hot and cold streaks online just as they do in casinos. Sitting at a blackjack table you can easily win or lose a half dozen hands in a row, but since you see the cards being delt in front of you, you know it would be next to impossible to fix the deck. Online is the same way, you go on hot/cold streaks just like you would betting on sporting events. however in online poker your streaks will be greatly exaggerated because in a casino, you might only see 20-30 hands of holdem in an hour, however online you will often play 100-200 hands/hour. Flushes, straights, etc. all hit at the same percentage in real life, however you may feel like they are more likely to come (or not come) online because you might see 4 in a row hit in a half hour, where the same 4 handed, half hour situation would probably be over a 3 hour time period live.
Those are just some of my general thoughts on the validity of online poker. I trust in it. I've been playing long enough to judge for myslef, and while im sure i've played at tables where players collude, In general I am comfortable with the play 99% of the time.

Hello -
I have played at several of the poker sites to test the waters. At the current time I am playing at two: PokerStars and Bodog. (Just put $ into Paradise to play the tourney)
I play small stakes NL Hold'em at Bodog. This is very profitable as Bodog is full of players who don't know what they are doing. I've gone from $200 to over $1000 in 6 weeks playing these guys.
I play mostly small and medium stakes LIMIT Hold'em at PokerStars. The caliber of players is much better at PokerStars. Therefore my style is a little different there, MUCH MORE PATIENT. Started with $400 about 9 months ago, cashed out $2500 profit last week. Starting again with $400 and am up to $635 as of today.
This is a program that tracks your play as well as anyone you play with. I've got over 13,000 registered players at PokerStars in my database. This program is basically a MUST.
Looking forward to Tuesday's tourney.
Take care and good luck to all

Hello -
Did not mean to upset anyone!
Don't know what Add I placed.
I was just giving my opinion on poker sites and hopefully some useful hints to help other forum members avoide some of the mistakes I made.
I really don't like being threatened, so please email me or let me know what I did wrong.
Sincerely,
Brian

I use Bodog so I can use my poker winnings for sports or vice versa. They just updated it and have some good MTT guarenteed payouts available for very cheap, and some even free.
Pretty easy to win a $20+2 sit and go and take down $100 quickly.

GMONEY,
Just wanted to let you know. I posted my thread to info players that arent familiar with the online poker sites. I personally believe that these sites are rigged but that is my personal opinion. I have played so many hands I can see a bad beat coming from a mile miles away. not all the time but I do a majority of the time. I guess that is why I have been successful in withdrawal several thousands of dollars from these online poker sites. I just thought I would inform other ultimatecappers of the possible things that occur.
I agree yes these sites would have a great deal of trouble on their hands if they were found guilty of any of the mentioned but I also know that they dont inform their players of any of the possible ways that people cheat such as collusion. I think that is their responsibility to inform their players of. I guess that releases their liability. if they later discover a person is cheating.
I can personally admit I played a few hands with friends where others had later joined the table and we took people to the cleaners.
were we caught no. should we have done that? no. does it happen? yes. be aware.
thank you
Kevin

I too think collusion can and does exist in certain poker rooms at the higher levels.
I dont think guys in the lower games have much to worry about though.
Now if your sitting at a table full of people all from russia, thats another story.
