YTD: 17-8 -- +22 units

Going outside the A10 today, but I really like this play.

Michigan State +4.5 @ Ohio State -- 4 units -- OSU has had a nice year thus far....but MSU has played a schedule and OSU's pre-Big10 cakewalk is going to come into play today, IMHO. Playing Chicago State, Belmont, Tenn State, Norfolk State, Gardner Webb's of the world is going to bite OSU in the butt today. Michigan State has played a much more difficult schedule, which is why they are ranked higher than the Buckeyes but have 3 more losses. Not to mention, I think Michigan State is just more talented. I'll take the points, but expect MSU to win this game SU in Columbus...sorry, FF.

GL to everyone!!

Nigel- GL!...but buyer beware on MSU at OSU. The announcers for PUR mentioned in the PUR/OSU game that they had no idea that OSU was this good on both ends of the floor in OSU's dismantling of PUR in ELafayette. MSU hasn't looked good at all in any of their 3 big10 games so far this year...even vs. IND. I actually gave MSU a shot to beat WIS last Sunday and they got smoked. OSU is a more complete team than WIS, IMO, and the value city center is a tough place to grab a win. My initial thought was to take MSU, but OSU has really played well and MSU hasn't. GL!....hope OSU wins by 4.49...lol....

Not to highjack your thread, but just a point to make. The Ohio State U has played some talent: @St. Joes, @Indiana, V. Tech, @Iowa State, LSU, and Penn State. I know they aren't all top 25 caliber schools, but winning @ Iowa State and St. Joes isn't a walk in the park. Their only lose was @ Indiana and it was only by 2pts!

Definitely agree with you, Mich St has the tougher schedule. But Ohio State has not exactly had it so easy. This is a tough one to call though.

Ohio State 32-19 at home vs. Spartans.
Ohio State 9-0 at home this season.
Spartans 58-46 all-time series.

I don't do the CBB but I do check in here from time to time to see if something grabs my attention esp when NF is posting as you has been very solid. I have to agree with FF and Tedward, MSU has struggled on the road and and has no really depth on this team. I have seen them play several times this year and they have not looked great, ESP on the road. The X factor is Izzo and if he can get these guys high enough to get a big 10 road win. They also lack any real floor leadership. I think OSU is the better team esp at home. Just my 1.5 cents which means shit lately but good luck with your pick... :prtytme:

Thanks for the input guys...actually, line is now up to +5.5....I actually like that....looks similar to the movement prior to yesterday's UC/Cuse game.

Maybe I'm just putting too much stock into the MSU game when they played the Zags...it was such a well played game. Oh well, I'll stick with it and see what happens.

Truth be told, this may be a play out of anger...I don't know. I really don't like OSU's basketball team....like their football team, but not baskets. They're big hairy pussies for not playing other Ohio teams over the last 15-20 years. Look at Ohio college hoops...UC plays X, UC plays UD, UC plays Miami, UC has played Ohio and Toledo recently as well as Kent State...same for XU, UD and Miami...they all play each other. Everyone plays in state schools except for big bad OSU who sits on their pedestals in Cbus. It annoys me. Mainly because the majority of the last 15-20 years, OSU would have gotten smoked by UC, UD, Miami and Xavier. Ah, but now that Huggs is gone at UC, UC is struggling, and OSU gets their best recruiting class ever, they agree to play UC? BS...total BS.

Oh well. Rant over. We'll see what happens. OSU has a nice squad...just so happens to be the second best team in the state of Ohio. Actually, we'd know who the best was if the administration wasn't scared of getting beaten on national tv by another smaller Ohio school...oh well.

nigel- if you think X is better than this OSU team, you're on crack...talk about a team without any quality wins and a phony schedule, it's X this year......i like X, i grew up in Cincy, but this is one darn good OSU team that has beaten some good teams so far and flat out dismantled some others.....i do agree that they should play the instate schools like UC and X sometimes....IU plays butler, ISU etc....Iowa plays ISU, UNI, drake.....

Well, allow me to retort. First, OSU plays with heart that very few teams play with. Its hard to root against them because they play their asses off. So maybe my ire should be directeed at the OSU administration moreso than OSU's hoops squad. Great game today with a lot of defense. As to who is the better team in Ohio? Don't know...OSU refuses to play anyone in Ohio...and trust me, its not the other Ohio school's fault...all OSU. And you make a good point....IU plays those schools....Iowa plays those schools...so why, exactly, does has the OSU administration refused to play all the other Ohio schools for the last 15-20 years? And one other thing....X may have a "phony" schedule, but that's not by choice. The Big 6 schools refuse to play them home and home. OSU's schedule...Belmont, Norfolk, Tenn State, FAMU, Gardner Webb, etc....that's by choice.

Neither here nor there...OSU is a tough squad. When you play them, you'd better show up. Maybe the NCAA will match OSU up with another Ohio school in the tourney this year...take the choice out of OSU's hands....God willing.

Hope everyone did well today!
