Iowa is always underrated and Florida is usually slightly overrated. While more repsect is generally given to the Florida twosome of Meyer and Leak, Ferentz is the best coach in the country, and Tate is better than Leak. Iowa's LB duo of Hodge and Greenway are also better than anything Florida has to offer.
IOWA +1. 2 UNITS
Mike Shula'S quotes have to make the Bama faithful queasy. He doesn't sound confident at all. Tech is griping about no respect and Coach Leach would put a huge feather in his cap if they beat the Tide here. CB Castille out for academics for the Tide also not a good sign. Tech won't score as much as they usually do, but scores enough to win with their pass happy style. Taurean Henderson is the difference maker.
TEX TECH -3. 1 UNIT
New QB for Louisville, same old defense for Va Tech. Louisville just doesn't have the athletes to compete with Tech here. Beamer ball will bring the usual blocked punt or special teams TD somehow (as always), mix pressure on the new QB with Jimmy Williams controlling the secondary and it could be a long day for Cardinal fans here. Expect Va Tech to pound the ball early with it's stable of backs aswell as Vick, and open up play action at will later on against UL's suspect stop unit. Can Dumervil corrale the elusive Vick?
VA TECH -8. 2 UNITS
Auburn threw in a stinker versus Georgia (cheap home game for the Dawgs), but this team is loaded offensively. Al Boerges needs a head coaching job next year as he performed miracles with that entirely new offense. I love Kenny Irons' toughness and Cox is a heady QB with 2 solid WR's in Aromashadu and Obamanu (spelling no clue on those, haha). For Wisky, Calhoun and Williams are VERY good, but Stocco is not. The Wisky D let Iowa trounce them in second half at home and is not overly impressive. Alvarez goes out an unfortunate loser here. Hook scary here though, might buy it.
