I was at a forum earlier today and someone was talking about trading stocks on sports(not an actual sportsbook.) I wont give the name since I dont think thats allowed. But pretty much, all you do is buy a a stock, say USC covers ATS vs. Texas and at halftime, when USC is up by 20 pts, you have the option of selling the stock for a higher price and make a profit(or something like that). Does anyone play this or if so, what do you think of it?

I know what you're talking about and the website. I'm use it once in awhile, the only problem is that you have to have a high speed connection, which i don't. But have you understand the concept, it's pretty fun and you can make alot of money really fast. Good Luck

Hye Orange Fedora, can you just give me a quick 101 on the website? Am I pretty much playing against other people and not the books? I "sold" UK -9.5 last night and there were no other bets on that game so I just canceled it. How exactly do I make money? What do I need to do? I understand the concept of buy low, sell high but still clueless.....thanks.

There's a few, their referred to as betting exchanges.

Tradesports is one of them. We may be bringing them back on board as advertisers soon.

Matchbook is another, which is another place we are sure to bring on board soon once I can talk to the principles of the company.

In summary, you are betting against other players. They have market makers which bring in big money and set the prices. Thats mostly who makes the market click.

The spread stays the same. The price changes according to how the game sites relative to the current score.

Its very exciting and very volatile. You also have to be very careful that you type in the write team and odds otherwise your screwed. I accidentally did it backwards once and it cost me a ton lol.

Those sites have tutorials. I recommend checking them out. Its a great way to play and you save tons of vig in doing so.

I also like that you can lock in profits early if you want.

Lastly, the real value in a sports market like that is waiting for a good home team to get down big and then buy a piece at some fat odds. Often times teams come back and make the game interesting. Great way to buy in for little to nothing and sell at a nice profit.

Kevin, lol, yeah, not a good idea to type a bet in backwards. I sort of get the hang out it now. One more question, on most Sundays I work, so I cant get involved with day trading(which is what buying and selling during the games are, imo) so what happens if I buy, for example, Buffalo -1.5 for 56 today? Buffalo covers and I didnt sell it. Does it just mean I win 50 vs. if i would have sold it during the game, i would have made a little more profit? Thanks for the help.
