Eariler this week was the anual Chicago South Side Toys for Tots run. Afterwards there was a band at one of the local bars. My cousin Michael was a part of this run and fun and has been for the last couple of years. Unfortunately on the way home from the bar not more than two blocks from arriving at home he was involved in an accident. The person in front of him was cut off by another driver and had slammed on the brakes. Michael had no time to stop and hit the back end of the car and was catapulted through the rear windshield. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered massive head trauma and bleeding in the brain. He died early on monday morning when the doctor said there was no hope left. Michael was 23 years old and while giving so selflessly everything was taken from him...............

brman, sorry for the loss.....It doesn't make sense to me when incidents like this happen to good people....this is one of the toughest issues people deal with when questioning christianity.. is how could God let somthing happen like this to a good person..somthing I would like to know for myself as it happened to my best friend who I played 3 yrs of HS golf with(w/ the incident occuring 20 yrds from our home golf course).....some things in life aren't so clear to me when things of this nature happen....condolences to you and your family! Stay strong.

My prayers and sympathy to you and all your family. Death is difficult to handle at any age but a person so young makes it even more difficult to deal with...

Beer-

Very sorry to hear of this loss- My Prayers go out to you and your family.

Take care Beer,

DJ

One thing to refelect on is that you should never take your life for granted. I am 23 years of a age myself and could never imagine losing my life at such a young age.

Thats why people should try to live their lives and have fun with it because you never know what can happen.

Thanks everyone...........

The toys for tots association showed up and brought all kinds of stuff for his wake. The Kid was going to church every week so I know he is where he belongs. The ceramony was nice and my cousin Brenda did a hell of a job with the eulogy. Lots of tears but he died doing what he loved to do so there is relief in that at least.

Lots of people came through!!

bmt- sorry to hear about that.......that is awful.....

gotta say this, though, i can't tell you how many times people have been killed in car wrecks because they weren't wearing a seat belt. not sure if it would have made a difference, but it does a good majority of the time. They aren't there for decoration, they are there to save lives. Hopefully someone reading this will take a minute to buckle up from now on....

sorry again for the loss man....
