1-0 Tuesday.....been a good last week or so....can't stand betting hockey this time of the year, so anything plus until early FEB is great....

COL -175............................typical of this time of the year, they didn't bother to lace up the skates for the first 30 minutes of the game vs. BUF. This COL team is great when they want to be. Hoping coming off a pitiful showing vs. BUF and another bad outing vs. VAN, they will come to play here. COL is one of the hightest scoring and best home teams in the league. Their special teams are top 10 in PK and PP at home. Samsonov won't play for BOS tonight.
COL-5 BOS-3

NYR/CHI under6 1/2......................both of these teams have only had 1 game combined that has gone over 5 goals each of their L5 outings. NYR have been getting great goaltending, and CHI Khabibulin has picked it up on his end of the ice of late. CHI is the 2nd lowest scoring home team with only 27 goals in 9 HOME games. They have only yielded 25, however. See a 3-2 game for someone. Probably the NYR, as CHI has really struggled of late.
NYR-3 CHI-2

GL to everyone!

the problem is this, and the pattern is the same every year. Teams, especially the good ones, come out balls to the wall in the first 6 weeks, trying to get a good start to the season and the season still has that "new car" feel to it. Once this time of the year rolls around, you really get some complacent teams from night to night. The playoffs are still 4 months away and it is just hard to get up for 82 games a year. Once February rolls around, the teams can see the finish line and games seem to take on more importance, so you are more likely to get a good effort from a team like Detroit, Colorado, etc. This is the best time of the year to play dogs to be honest with you. Hockey is all about outworking the other team. That is why Calgary beat Detroit last year in the playoffs...they wanted it more. I had a great start to the season, and i have had 2 incredible 2nd halfs over the past 2 seasons, but the months of December and January are the worst betting months as far as side plays go, IMO for the above reasons. It took a lot for me to play COL tonight, and if they hadn't played so poorly in their previous 2 games, i wouldn't have touched that game.

GL to everyone!

Oh I see what you mean. That makes sence. Like Ottawa I guess, they are what? 21-5 or something like that. I am sure that can't keep that pace forever. I am tempted to bet against them over a 4-5 game period and hope to cash 2 of them.

Well, similarly... I have a feeling that always bet the home team first game. I always think game 1 is key for a good start and need to win the first one at home. That goes for pretty much all sports. Off to a good start at home to get that 1-0 but between then its hard to tell. 3-0 leads often seem like they don't try hard enough to finish them off. That is what i see in the past even though they try to win.

I'll keep that in mind over the next few months.

Thx
