Some guy named JAGCEC at cappersmall.com came up with it, here's his explanation:

I'll try my best to explain this system, it's simailar to the NBA Road Trip System as well. Each series is considered 1 unit, not each game of a series.

So far this season there has been a total of 47 road trips (Teams playing 3 or more games away back to back) this season. To date there have been 45 road trip wins and 2 road trip losses. There are around 170 road trips this season I believe.

The goal for each Road Trip is to make a profit of 1 unit, by betting against a traveling team. If the traveling team wins the 1st game of the road trip you now must wager enough on the 2nd game of the trip to recover the lost wager on the 1st game while still trying to make a profit of 1 unit. If the traveling team were to win each game of their road trip, you must then take the total amount lost in that trip and spread it out across the other remaining trips. This will give you a new profit total that will be more than one unit. Raising the new goal of profit in the remaining trips will hopefully recapture your 1 unit profit for each trip over the course of the season.

EXAMPLE: Minnesota starts a 4 Game road trip, playing at Calgary, Vancouver, San Jose & Anaheim

Game 1: Calgary -135 VS. Minnesota

Bet: Calgary (Bet 1.35 units to win 1 unit)
Result: Minnesota Wins. 1.35 units lost, if Calgary wins we profit 1 unit and the road trip is over.

Game 2: Vancouver -110 vs. Minnesota
Bet: Vancouver (bet to WIN 2.35 UNITS)
Result: If Vancouver wins, we recover the 1.35 units lost in the first game and make our profit of 1 unit. The road trip is over.
If Minnesota Wins, we must bet enough in game 3 to recover the losses in game 1 and game 2, while still trying to make a profit of 1 unit.

And so on…

If Minnesota goes on to win all 4 games in their road trip, we then would take the total amount lost on the trip and spread it out over the other remaining road trips until it is won back. (Or I run out of money!!!)
The 2 road trips that have lost, have lost a total of 17.5 units, we have recovered 14 of those units back so far. If we would have won each road trip to date we would be at +47 units, as of today we are +43.5 units with -3.5 units pending. We are in the middle of a road trip now with Chicago, with -12 units pending on that trip with a big game coming early this week.

Good Luck!
