Just trying to get opinions from those who follow either LSU or GA closely on this big SEC CHampionship game @ the Georgia Dome...

This is a tough game to choose a side here...my gut says GA, but it's tough to say...LSU is a bit overrated IMO.... Arkansas whipped them this past week on both sides of the ball and luckily LSU squeaked by...LSU lost to Tennessee, and TN has just been disappointing to me all season...at the same time I don't think Shockley will be able to consistently escape the pass rush of Oliver, Williams, and Wroten on the D-Line....

...and then on the other side LSU's QB JaMarcus Russel scares me as he just doesn't seem to be as fluid and confident as of lately....

any thoughts from those who follow these teams closely.....Hoping we all can share some solid info and make some big$$ this weekend.....:yeah:

I am inclined to take UGA despite their poor showing this past weekend against Tech. LSU has been able to squeak by opponents all year long on talent alone that Saban so graciously left Les Miles with. Miles is an absolutely terrible coach IMO. There are many games that he should have lost had his team not grossly overmatched its opponent talent-wise. UGA is a team that has either almost as much or as much talent as LSU, with a much better coach IMO. Richt is notorious for having a chink in his armor every year, and I think that chink was the Auburn game b/c in the Florida game he was without Shockley.

While LSU's D-line of Oliver, Wroten, and Williams is incredible, one should remember that they're going up against Max Jean-Gilles and a very experienced and BIG O-line in UGA. I think that UGA's O-line will be able to neutralize LSU's D-linemen enough to protect Shockley and buy him adequate time to throw effectively or scramble for yards when nothing is open. Also look for Richt to take advantage of the agressiveness of LSU's defense and run some draws with Shockley or any one of their 3 talented backs.

Jermarcus Russell is most definitely the X-factor in this matchup. He has shown flashes of brilliance this season, most notably and recently to me being his 2nd half performance against Bama. However, he has been more prone than not to throw picks and give up turnovers to the opposition. I cite the Bama game again here. In that game LSU had zero turnovers, but in the next game against Ole Miss, Russell threw balls right at Rebel DB's and should have had at least 2 INT's if they hadn't dropped the balls that literally hit them in the hands. Sometimes it's almost as if LSU tries to give the opposing team turnovers, and I jsut think Les Miles' luck runs out this week, as it has lasted longer that it should have all year up to this point.

I like Shockley and UGA to win this game outright in a low-scoring affair. The under looks good, and I will be taking UGA. Good luck!

To handicap all season. I try my best to stay away from the SEC. I can't get a read on LSU . Ever since they blew the 21-0 lead to Tennessee they have been up and down. I'm stayin away from this one .

I like LSU to shut down Georgia. Think they got caught looking ahead last week. 24-13 type game me thinks.

I think Georgia qb makes the difference. Pick the winner the points won't matter in this game, imo.
gl either way..
But then again, don't take advice from a (12-21) or something record!!!

LSU MUST DIE!!!!!!!!! I WANT A DAMN ML!!!

Georgia D is the best D LSU will face. LSU just escaped arkansas by 2 points or Georgia would be playing Auburn. LSU has allowed an average of 232.4 yards in its last 5 games. Shockley's offense averages 394 yards per game. Shockley having a breakout season, passing for 2,199 yards and 19 TDs. Over his last 5 games, he has thrown for 1,032 yards with 11 TDs. 5 of LSU's victories this season - including ones over Florida, Auburn and Alabama - came by 4 points or fewer. Revenge for Georgia losing this game in 2003 to LSU 34-13. Playing this game in Atlanta is home field advantage for Georgia.

I'm a HUGE LSU fan and I do not bet LSU(too much emotion involved in the decision) i'll tell you guys one thing, I wouldn't touch this game with somebody elses money! But i'm gonna try to give some info to help those that want to.

Georgia is rather easy to figure, solid on both sides of the ball, great coach, and a really exciting QB, overall a very solid and talented team.

Then there's LSU........we're like that really fine cheerleader that you wanted to take to the prom in high school, and then a few years later you realized that she was drop dead georgeous, BUT PHYSCO!!!!!!!!!!!!
We don't know which way is up. We have great talent very solid D and O line good LB's, blah, blah, blah.
But we get on the field and it's like watching a Mike Tyson fight, you just never friggin know what's gonna happen! Dropped passes, missed field goals, poor coverage the list is too long and I can't take many more of the Cardiac finishes.

IF(a big if) LSU puts together a complete game(which by the way HAS NOT happened all year) we will absolutely smoke Georgia............but I see no reason to think that Les MIles has all of a sudden figured out the magic formula to make this team gel.

I AM NOT BETTING THIS GAME BUT IF I HAD TO HERE WE GO:

Georgia +1.5
Under 40

Forgive me Billy Cannon

baman,

Tough game to bet, id lay off if i were you. LSU should be more less LSWHO?

This team after the loss of Saban has been taken over by a coach that does not know much about the SEC and definetly should not be coaching a team in the SEC. The game against Tennesee when the crowd strarting to yell and he had on that head set that they wear in the WAC when crowds are not that loud, and they wear the headsets that make you look like a telephone operator was not enough. he had to switch to a real mans headset.

How do you lose a 17 point lead to a team that wont even make a bowl at home? Not to mention, right before the half he runs a qb draw w/ 25 seconds to play from the 30 yard line and doesnt even get time to kick a field goal.

6 of there 11 games could have gone either way
Ariz. State, 4 and like 23?? and throws a td pass
Auburn---John V. misses 5 fgs!
Alabama--missed fg's
Arkansas--missed fg's
Tennessee--up 17 and lose AT HOME!!!
Florida- up 14 again and almost get beat @ HOME!

Richt, will try to give LSU a bit of their own medicine and run the ball and do some QB draws and bootlegs, and This game is won by coaching. Both teams have the personel and both can play, but due to the unmatched coaches, UGA and Richt take this one and head back to Atlanta for the 3rd straight week!

UGA 24
LSU 10

If things happened like they should, it would be Auburn and UGA rematch. The winner of the Iron Bowl should have decided the West b/c is obvious that the best teams is sitting in Auburn and T-town.

GL with your decision!
