Lemme start by saying that I hate to make posts like this.

This is a place to come to for fun.

We do understand that sometimes people get sauced, lose a bet and get a bit grouchy.

We also understand that with such a large crowd of folks there's gonna be different personalites. With that there's gonna be conflicts. Ain't nothing different than being in high school really.

Furthermore, we understand that with sports and gambling, there can be ego's as well. Hell, we're all guilty of it at times.

Moving along, there's gonna be good cappers, bad cappers, sharp cappers, funny guys, dipshits, dumbasses, scammers, sleezeballs, nice people and some people ranging somewhere in between.

Ok, with all that being said, we as moderators somehow have to keep the peace amongst all these different behaviors. It's not an easy job. No matter what the issue is, there's always gonna be people on both sides of the fence.

We gotta act as judges and decide what needs to be moved to the toilet, who needs to not post here because their a cancer, what threads need to close due to potential arguments/flaming breaking out and so on. Those are some tough decisions, ESPECIALLY when they involve guys who have been here for a long time and have Veteran status.

Anyway, getting to the point, multiple issues have arisen that we're not able to tolerate for numerous reasons. It has to change otherwise people will start disappearing as posters. This place was built on quality over quantity and it has and will stay that way at all costs. Yeah, Im sure we're gonna get the Hitler cat calls as usual, but please let us speak our piece and let everybody know that numerous forums have existed on the web this size and bigger and turned to shit in a heartbeat for not keeping a short leash on the bullshit.

Please follow these rules or please do not post here:

1. If new guys comes in, please don't shit on them despite what your views are. If some guy posts a lock or a guarantee, try to explain to him that he'll get more respect by proving himself over the long term.

2. If you disagree with somebody, please don't strike out and flame them because you couldn't get them to sway their decision to what YOU believe. That's the beauty of the forum. Everybody can voice their opinion and say why. Who knows, maybe it's you that's on the wrong side?

3. Many of our readers/members own their own websites. That's great and we wish you the best of luck. Please respect the fact that we spend a ton of loot on advertising and please do not attempt to grab our members away from us. This is now a zero tolerance policy and will result in the boot if your shilling, mentioning or promoting your site in the forums.

4. If you don't like somebody, stay out of their posts.

5. Don't cheat on your posted records. Be real, you'll get more respect.

In summary, the negativity, fighting, bickering, shitting on other members etc has to go. At risk of sounding like an asshole, I don't care who it is, if your being crude without reason we have to boot you.

This is supposed to be fun fellas. I've got a moderator who has basically told me he doesnt read much of the forum anymore because the negativity is getting under his skin. It so happens that this guy is a good buddy of mine and as I told him, we'll get rid of whatever we need to get rid of to fix that problem.

Shit, we've got people who have emailed us saying that they'd love to post but fear being bashed if their picks don't win etc. That's horrible and not the kind of conduct that's gonna go on at a site that I manage.

So, if you get the boot, don't take it personal. Please dont email us asking to be reinstated either.

Sorry to have taken up your time with this post. Unfortunately a couple times a year we have to let everybody know that quality comes before quantity even if it means less people which = less ad dollars for the site.

Thanks to everybody for making this place great. We'll get past this little issue and all will be well.

For those of you that never heard me say "Monte never forgets". I'll say it again. Monte never forgets. There are only a handfull of folks here that have been here from the beginning. Just read over this, and I thought this may not be completely clear. I can tell some understand and some don't....but the bottom line is that rjp got banned because he was trying to gain financially from UC.

He was trying to recruit, steal, whatever....members from UC to join up for his own site, which he charges people for, by asking the mods for people's emails, and/or by posting his email/url, and then editing it out after the desired party got it.

Kevin spent years of hard work and alot of his own money making this site what it is, and it also costs alot of money to keep it up and running. Server costs, advertising, and whatever else are not cheap....not to mention how much of his valuable time Kevin puts in to keep this site up to standards.

For someone to come in here and try to "steal" members that are here as a result of Kevin's years of hard work and advertising dollar, to join up at their own pay site they are trying to launch is not cool.

The one that I think your referring to is more than half the reason this site is as decent as it is. It was many of his ideas, his moderating, his time and more that created the close to no tolerance stance we have here.

I know your a good guy HOMEDAWG and I know that your a smart guy. I believe you and I see eye to eye on quite a bit of stuff as well. Please TRUST ME when I say Ive met this guy numerous times in person and he is only out for what is best for the forum. I will publicly state that I agree with every decision he's made as well.

I guess you'd have to meet the guy to really get the jist of what Im saying. He loves ya or hates ya and wears it on his sleeve. With that being said, he doesn't have any bones to pick with people who toe the line.

The RJP issue has been one that's quietly been watched for the last few weeks and some of the things he did were viewed as underhanded. Notably, editing things out to hide them from mods etc. I didnt witness this however others did and thats enough there to not want the guy here. I too think RJP is an ok guy and have nothing personal against him. The boot is a business decision in which Stiflers Mom's explanation as stated above pretty much covers our stance on the issue.

It was once a site that tracked players stats, then came a charge to do so, then came free picks, then more additions, next a forum and a big portal. Sorry, but we're not a garden that allows people to plant seeds to sprout their own interests.

I dont blame the guy for starting a site. Having website for a job is somewhat of a dream for some and I couldnt blame anybody for wanting to do so. On the flip side, we aint the fertilizer for that and it was believed that THAT is what was going on.

Add that to the editing of posts with intent to hide shit from modrators it made a few of them think that he had no respect for our rules so that in turn of course pisses them off and booted him.

A moderator can do no right in making big decisions, especially involving senior members. There's always gonna be guys pissed off about it.

Im sorry for that. I maintain that this site is a table and Yomonte has been, is and will continue to be more than one of the legs to the table.

I hope that someday you have the chance to meet the guy. He aint hiding behind a screen, he doesnt have power trip issues nor does he ever wanna ban anybody. What he does have is integrity and a keen eye to spot negative things before they transpire.

Ya just gotta trust me on this one. This is one of those guys that ya meet him and can't help but love'm.

I've only had one time in my life when I looked at him with a squinted eye. It was at our company dinner and a really fucking horrible smell broke out in the banquet room. I have a few things to say about this subject. Having known a couple of people in this forum rather well over the last couple of years I can honestly say they have become friends of mine. Hell there is alot of people on the site that I would like to get know better but in a forum such as this where it's only possible to comunicate out in the open and not exchange PM's or emails it becomes quite hard to get on a personal level with some. There are good reasons the site has for these rules and I'm not knocking the rules so much as I'm saying there is sometimes when the exception to these rules should be made. There are also other ways to provide area's like this in a forum setting.

RJP has been looked down upon for a while now and I could feel it. I must have read most of is posts. I have become pretty good friends with RJP also. I would say if there is two people in this place that I have gotten to know the best it would be both Billy and RJP. I would try to help these two people out with anything if I could. I doubt RJP would need my help other than with picking winners!!lol The guy is amazing.......... The reason why he made the site you are all talking about is because of this forum and people asking for tracking software. I never found tracking software to be a huge demand but people asked for it.

I watched that site from start to finish and he wrote the whole thing himself. He also took alot of the formulas that I told him about in books and made it web based so I no longer had to scratch alot of this stuff out on paper but normally the guy was way ahead of me anyway. I doubt highly that he was posting links to his site and other than people directly asking for his help or tracking software or anything else he could help you with..... he would not make any mention at all to the fact that it is out there.

The real story begins when people found out at this site that he had a site. All the sudden I believe he became a threat to this place instead of a friend of it. I guess that is one way to look at it but there is only one reason why anyone would be a threat to a place like this and that is money. Having been kicking arround the web for many years and opening my own site which really never got off the ground the right way I know what trafic is and how valuable it is to a place but aside from that I also know the ability to cooperate with other sites......affiliate with them. Make it where everyone wins. The software was unquie and not even close to this site or a forum. It is tracking tool with handicapping tools and formula predictions not touts selling picks.

There has also been mention by one of the mods arround here that I was helping in advertiseing his site in this forum......... Well I can tell you this.......... whoever you are that said that you can stick it and break it off because I never did any such thing. I might be a bit hard to handle at times but I hold true to the rules at least untill the forum gets overloaded with people not following the rules anyway.

I'm not sure I know the whole truth about what happened here and it really doesn't matter because I'm probably a person in this place with one foot out the door and the other on a banana peel but to say RJP was being underhanded seems to be a stretch to me.

Anyway he is still my friend and I'll be talking to him just the same as always. Banned or not he's still a great guy.

I'm not going to question the intent of the powers that be, but all I can say is RJP was one of the first folks to welcome me here and wish me a good luck from time to time. Over time we became friends also.

I for one, was a person looking for this tracking software, and RJP gave me a subscription free of charge. I used it for a couple of days and realized that I did not have the time to enter bets at the book and at this site.

He has never tried to sell me anything, the site was free, I was emailed a password and it has not been mentioned again in the conversations we have had over the last several months.

Once again, not bucking any decision by Kevin or whomever else, but RJP, IMO, would not take away from this forum for personal gain.

I checked the site today, for the first time in months and honestly don't see the conflict here, his site tracks plays that members have to manually enter and adds and subtracts for them.

Affiliating with other sites (in this industry at least) is bad news.

There once was a GIANT named Bettorsworld. Russ and Freddie from Majorwager were very well known posters there and along came majorwager.

Ken Weitzner was the old owner of The RX. Apparently he sold the site, stayed there as a poster, and now he owns a new one named EOG which is in direct competition with the Rx. There's a bunch of others that have sprouted off those sites as well. I dont care to name some of them because their acquaintences of mine and I dont feel the need to make it sound like Im banging on them.

You don't see Ronald McDonald in line at Burger King, you don't see Wendy at Arby's and you don't see that Jack in the Box character at Carl's Jr.

If you really wanted to get technical it could be said that there's an acquisition cost per reader. I dont look at it this way because I do this for fun. If I start getting down to that nitty gritty it's probably time for me to bow out and find something else for me to do cause I'm all about having a good time, not the almighty buck.

The "underhanded" reference comes from editing out an email address or website url before a moderator sees it. I was approached by multiple people that thought this was bad news. I have to agree.

I liked and still like RJP as a person and a poster. I dont think anybody involved in this situation thinks RJP is a bad guy.

Furthermore, the goal of this site is to produce a gathering place to exchange info. We want to INCREASE not DECREASE the action here.

We post rules and people choose whether to follow them or not.

Beerman, I aint got any problem with you man. I even agree with you on most of your points. I think the only way to see it would be through the Moderator points of view. Try being put in our position and ask yourself what you'd do.

Sometimes no matter what we do there just aint an easy way out.

If anybody said you were helping promote his site it would only have been out of looking out for the best interests of the UC site. We've been here for years and darn near seen it all. Most guys leave in two's or even 3's to go start a site to run in competition with us. Maybe it looked that way to somebody? I dunno, I can't speak for somebody elses post or thoughts.

I just want a peaceful resolution to this and to move on.

Please don't be upset with Yo fellas. He wasn't the only person to have a tiff about this issue. There were actually a few that questioned what was going on.

My 4% - I, like I'm sure everyone else on this board, was drawn to it because of the quality and the quantity that is here. RJP was a poster I enjoyed reading, but 2 weeks from now, I'm not going to cry in my beer because he's gone. Many will rise up and RJP will be forgotten. Kevin and the Mods have to take a lot of crap for some of the decisions that they make...bottom line, and I know that I speak for the majority when I write this, I will never second guess rulings made concerning this message board. that is all I can say. I started reading threads on here around 3 years ago. I finally signed up in 2003 but didnt post my first pick untill baseball season 2004. I have seen alot of things in that time period but nothing like this. Wow give alot of insight to ULTIMATECAPPER.com on this thread.
I look at ultimatecapper almost daily. I personally think KEVIN that you have a great site here. But, I continue to hear people asking for things. I think it is time to expand. I think if you dont people will find their needs else where. OR worse people will continue to feed off your site for things that it is missing. I understand that running a site like this is tough work.

I think that what is need is a place where someone can go and track a members record. I dont think this would hurt your business if you did find someone that would be interested of tracking this info for you. I think that you could even offer this for a charge. I think people are looking for cappers that are credible with their picks. I read post atleast once a week looking for the best cappers. I cap a few games on occassion but also turn to other cappers for advice also. It really makes it tough to figure out who knows what. WHat i am suggesting might make it easier.
maybe even make a competition out of it. IF you hit 50 pecent you get the service for free since you arent out for the almight dollar. I think this is what the MEMBERS are wanting. I could be wrong. LOTS OF EGOS on ULTIMATECAPPER. this can be a way of that CAPPERS can really beat there CHEST. then their records will be for real not some made up crap like we have seen in the past. ANY THOUGHTS?

All I can say is this....

Once you become a moderator, you must look at things in a whole different light than you did as a regular old poster.

We are not always right, but you can definitely believe that whenever any of us makes a decision, it's in the best interests of UC....and it's never personal.

I can only speak for myself here, and not any of the other mods...but if i was to ban people for personal reasons, there would be alot of people that would be gone long ago.

I would not do that....because it's not fair just to use my powers here as moderator to gain an "advantage" over someone, plus it wouldn't make me a very good moderator. Anyone who doubts this need not look back any further than the end of this MLB season...and I'm sure those of you who frequented the MLB forum know what I mean. That guy is still here....and I will never ban him, unless he breaks the rules pretty bad. Ironoically, if he had done and said what he did to ANY other poster then myself, I'd have shown him the door without a second thought.

Point is, I'm sure Yomonte feels the same way....and he only did what he felt was best for UC....and I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision for him to make. And like Kevin said....I too have met Yomonte in person, and Kevin is 100% right....once you meet him, you'd completely understand what Kevin is talking about. I'm sure the image many of you may have of him is way way off from what he really is, because I know mine was when all I had to go on was his posts here at UC.
