Since this is my first post let me give my tell a little about how i pick b4 i post my picks. First of all this year i purchased ESPN gameplan and watch football from 11:00AM to 11:00PM every saturday. My wife thinks I am a loser but I do the weeks laundry while watching football on saturday so it gets me off the hook. Since I got Gameplan I've been betting over 20 games every week. This wasn't planned, but maybe an addictive tendency to bet on every game on TV. What I found is that when I bet on 5 games, if i get bad breaks in 2 big games i cant make money. When betting 20 games or more I have hit well over 50% of my games. With 5 games, 1 bad break & 1 bad pick and you're lucky to go .500 . With 20 games the bad breaks even themselves out with good breaks and it is more of a reflection of your ability to pick against the spread. I haven't tracked my total win loss this year, but I am up $2,700. That is with an avg. bet of about $50, although $1,200 of that came off 2 games. Those are the only 2 games I have bet more than $500 on and both hit. My units = $10. I don't bet trends. I base my picks sheerly on who I think is better (I flip the channel between plays and see about 15 games a saturday), where they are playing, how each team is playing now, gut feelings, and whatever team my secretary picks (this year she is 8 - 1, no shit). My record for the last 3 weeks although i will start at zero for tracking record on this board : 18-9 , 18-9, 16-11. Disregard all picks involving OU Sooners ( I am a biased OU homer) Now, this weeks picks:
Miami, OH -10 2 Units L (TV Game)
Ohio +3 2 Units L (TV Game)
N. Illinois +10 10 Units W too many pts. for an unimpressive Toledo team
Kansas St. -1.5 3 Units
Almost equal teams, playing in Manhattan, Bill Snyders last game
Northwestern -14.5 4 Units
Northwestern covers in this track meet b/c Illinois just doesn't have the fire power, even against NW's horrid defense
Ball St. +4.5 3 Units
Lines are probably starting to catch up to the fact that they're not that bad w/o 14 suspensions. Gotta ride the wave while it lasts, they've won their last 3 for me.
Vanderbilt +12 2 Units
How can Tenn give up 12 pts. to anyone. Vandy has shown they can score last 2 games. Won't take many to stay w/in 12 pts.
Ohio St. -3 10 Units
Are playing very good football. defense will really slow down UM. They are a much better team. Gut feeling.
Oklahoma +7 4 Units
I am an OU homer, but OU is playing better, and ttech is sputtering. OU has Tech's number winning 10 of last 11 although this year is their best matchup.
Oklahoma St. +2.5 20 Units
Can't stand to bet on the Faggies, but they are playing well, Baylor is in a funk with no bowl hope. OSU really fired up at the chance to make a bowl.
C. Florida -11.5 3 Units
Rice sucks, they give up tons of pts. C. Florida is OK. Many teams not as good as UCF have covered 11.5 against Rice.
Washington St. +3 3 Units
TV game. WSU has scored lots of pts and played some good teams very close. WU sucks, Disregard last weeks effort where they benefited from a ton of turnovers.
Auburn +7 3 Units
Auburn playing well, Alabama can't score. Had a gut feeling on this game, then my secretary's pick this week was Auburn. Icing on the cake.
Penn St. -7 30 Units
Penn St. is very good, MSU is playing horrible football. This game will be a blowout.
BYU -11.5 7 Units
My gut said Utah, but BYU is playing too good plus they have won for me the last 3 wks. Gotta ride em' till they buck me.
UTEP -8 2 Units
TV Game. Flip a coin.
Tulsa -14 3 Units
Tulsa playing well while Tulane is struggling (see last weeks Rice game) Like TU to cover, but not by much.
Clemson -1 20 Units
The Cocks can't score, and I don't know if anyone can stop the freshman RB for Clemson. Tigers continue playing well.
Colorado St. -14.5 3 Units
Hollond will light up the scoreboard like everyone else that has played UNLV.
Virginia Tech. -7.5 7 Units
Don't let the Miami game fool you into thinking this team is not still really good. Virginia has trouble scoring, and the Hokie defense will be one of the best they have faced. Like the Hokie's to bounce back big off the bye week.
New Mexico -13.5 3 Units
Air Force playing bad, but still alot of points. Coin flip cause it'll be on TV
Memphis +7 2 Units
Too many pts for S. Miss to give up to almost anyone.
SanDiego St. -7 4 Units
Aztecs playing well and more importantly, Wyoming is playing horribly. How many in a row have they lost now. Almost all losses against the spread also.
Fresno St. +24 3 Units
TV Game. Coin flip. Which USC team will show up this week, they'll cover if they want to, but I want to root for the bulldogs.
Army -7.5 3 Units
This was my buddies pick so I'll go with it.
Miami, FL -17.5 2 Units
Alot of points, but Miami is starting to hit on all cylinders. Although I could easily see them have a little bit of a let down.
Miami, OH -10 2 Units L (TV Game)
