Well finally got back some with a sweet little 3-0 night last night, a big shout out to the Bolts, Hurricanes and the Kings........Looking kinda bleak for the POD contest though. Not quite ready to say "Stick a fork in me cause I'm done" although it would appear that I'm well cooked to say the least.
Tonight I actually have a couple of plays that I really like so that probably means another 0fer night ahead but what the heck, can't win em if you don't play em.
Thrashers are back in the City of Brotherly Love again and will try to recover from Wednesday nights shellacking at the hands of the Islanders. Thrashers got real problems now cause ol Earl, (you remember Earl. He's the guy from the hotdog stand they got to come in the net for them last game.) Anyway, ol Earl's got something going on tonight here in Atlanta, think it's his little girls Thanksgiving school play but anyway, Earl wont be in net. This morning, Coach Hartley recieved a call from Mike Garrett, ex USC Heisman Trophy winnner back in 1965. Evidently, Garrett has been playing a lot of pond hockey up in upper peninsula Michigan and has talked Hartley into letting him be in net tonight.................wait a minute, check that, local radio station just said something about a young Michael Garnett will start. Hmmmm, must be Earl's next door neighbor or something. Well, whatever..............
Flyers -1 1/2 100
Moving on over to Big D thats Dallas Texas, the Columbus Blue Jackets come to town and ordinarily, I usually worry about a team coming home from off the road. You know, first game back let down blues. Well, if it was anybody else I might consider taking the other side but quite frankly, right now, the CBJ are a really bad team. Don't care if Fedorov is skating or not. Turco should be in net and like this matchup too much. Dallas doesn't play again until next Wednesday so there's no reason for Tippett to keep anyone out to save them for next game. My play here will be...........
Stars -1 1/2 100
Last it's back up to the Great North where the Blackhawks are actually playing decent of late with a 4-2 last six. It is against the Blues twice, the Yotes but did catch the Oilcan sleeping a bit though. Don't think they'll catch the Flames asleep at the switch. Right now, Calgary looks unbeatable at home with Kiprusoff in net. The ol Bulin wall has been doing not too bad lately himself so will play this one as a total and play.............
