View Full Version : How Bad is McNabb?

Can it get any worse for Donivan McNabb? He singlehandedly cost Philly another game, and possible their season last night, with a pass that no one, including announcers, writers, teammates or anyone else understands. Just who was he throwing the ball to? Does anyone even have a clue here?
The fact is simply this. Donivan McNabb lacks the intelligence needed to be a consistant winner in the NFL. The Eagles were able to overcome McNabbs lack of intelligence to a point, but they never could win the big game. McNabb just looks stupid out there. Look at his face and he appears stuck for an answer. When he talks, he sounds like someone with an IQ of about 3. He has proven time and time again that he has no idea what to do, when the preasure is on.
It is about time that people stop making excuses for McNabb and stop trying to protect him. The truth is clear now. T.O. had it right. Rush, while making a dumb mistake by making a racial issue out of this, was also right. People make McNabb out to be much more than he is. He certainly has the physical abiliies, but his total lack of inelligence makes him a QB that is doomed to failure.

I do agree that was a horrible pass on McNabbs part. But what the hell was Reid thinking calling a pass play. they had the ball 2nd and 7 from close to midfield with a 6 pt lead and 3 min to go. They had been running on the Cowboys all night long. Run the ball force Dallas to use their timeouts worse case scenerio you punt and pin Dallas deep in their own end, with no timeouts, best case you get the first down and the game is over. No wonder this team can never win a big game.

I agree...it was bad calling and bad playing.
I dont think that we should be criticizing McNabb though. He's one of the top QB's in the NFL, and I know I'd love to have him in my organization if I were running a franchise.

I couldn't agree with you any LESS. All I have to say is look at the years pre-TO, enough said. You're going to change your judgement on this guy just by one freakin game????

MCNABB is a bum,,
:bang:
i think its fair to say that he cost the majority of us here money 2 weeks in a row.
last Sunday night against washington, 1> when he never spiked the ball before half to get a field goal to tie, and 2> when he had 1st and goal at the end of the game to win,, and he throws 4 times in a row....and as for last night,,
I think we all saw...
He dosent have the brains to be an elite QB in the nfl, and whats worse, every time the TV shows him up close, he has this DUMB smile on his face...
:gulp: HE gets me sooo mad,,
:flush: with mcnabb:puke: I hope his mom gives him a good spanking to whip him into shape. NO more betting on HIM EVER...
T.O was right, Phily would have been much better off with Brett

This is the deal:
McNabb Rolls, a blitz comes, the blitz was obvious before the play. The Reciever on a blitz is supposed to run a "GO" pattern. McNabb is supposed to Heave it down the feild so that one of two things happens: (1) incomplete pass or (2) if it is in tercepted it is like a punt. McNabb misidentified the play (which I don't know how) and threw the pass as if the WR was going to run an "IN" pattern which is the wrong read on that play.
In other words: (1) The veteran QB made the wrong read. (2) the Rookie WR made the right play.
I don't think this one play makes MCNABB an idiot or stupid. I agree with the previous comments just run the damn ball (of course I don't mind I had dallas)...if you don't put the ball in the air it can't be intercepted. Philly was running the f*ck out of it the whole game and then passed it at the worst possible time. I agree that Philly is done. Everyone in the Division is above them, they are 0-3 or 0-4 in the division are 0-2 vrs Dallas 0-1 vrs Waswhington and 0-1 vrs Giants. Seasons over, which is unfortunate as I would have loved to see them run the table after Owens left.
Oh Well, at least I picked up some $

He's hurt! BAD.
Probably on meds. Who knows, maybe that factors into it. He needs to hang them up this yr and get himself fixed.

as a recent rutgers alum... there were lots of mcmahon to lj smith passes... so as far as fantasy nfl goes (i know many of us here are into it) LJ is a solid top 3 TE now.
as far as betting goes.... it will be really hard for me to bet on the eagles side for the rest of the season... they really do look finished, esp now with mcnabb out
why is the line for this giants/eagles game still not up !! I wanna bet giants so bad.... prob giants by a TD i think

Last night was just a continuation in the "I blew it" saga of McNabb. He did it against Washington. He did it against Atlanta. He used 10 minutes to score in the 4th quarter of the Superbowl when his team was down by 10.
Philly has had the best talent in the NFC for years now and what do they have to show for it. One Conference Championship, 3 Conference Championship losses in a row, and one Superbowl loss. What a waste of talent.

I'm sure all who bet on the eagles last night are still stunned by McNabb's decision to throw the ball there. I'm even more stunned that Reid called such a pass play when finally the run was working!!!! If you are going to do a pass play it needs to be high percentage. Lets think what could have happened on that play. Pass incomplete, clock stops. Pass complete pushed out of bounds, clock stops. Its the typical out pattern that gets picked for an interception. If you're gonna pass, give it to Westbrook out in the flat, but wait, he wasn't even on the field. Reid for two weeks in a row hasn't had their best offensive weapon on the field at critical points in the game. I blame Andy Reid for the loss totally. With the exception of the last drive, the Eagles defense was doing very well, and i would have rather had them on the field, with Bledsoe shitting the bed under pressure again. It was a very frustrating loss, but it was not McNabb's fault. He has been gutsy playing this year with the injuries he has endured. McNabb is a proven winner, and has gotten to the super bowl, and a lot of teams would love to have him as quarterback of their team.

McNabb isn't the greatest and definately not the worst he is an average QB in the NFL. The person who should take the blame is Andy Reid or whoever called that play...........Run out the clock genius force Dallas to score .................
.....................Another problem Karma..........Karma bit the eagles in the ass.......thinking they own T.O. like a slave.....if they want to compete they better get T.O. back because without him they are a subpar team..............
If Philly wants T.O. gone release him...........and to T.O. you want to play shut your mouth and play.............
I don't respect T.O. as a person however I do respect his god given talent.

I agree about the play calling and how you said make the other team beat you. I have never gotten it when teams do this. Why the hell are you passing? You are winning and have 0 NEED TO SCORE. You're playing ball control at this point.
Andy Reid gets alot of the blame on my behalf for making that call. McNabb gets alot of blame on my behalf for making that stupid pass.
The Eagles can win without T.O, they've done it the last 4 years. They may not be the superbowl championship team without him, but they're definately still a good team without him. No, dont let that POS back on the squad, all he's going to do is bring the team down mentally and verbally.
No matter how good you are, you're never better than the team, nor the organization. When you believe you are, it's time to __________:out:

The eagles could have very well won the game last night. Remember when McMahon threw that pass to Reggie Brown to the Cowboys' 20 yard line and he dropped it? Yeah, well, I remember that play. You think T.O. would have dropped that ball? No way in hell. Not only would he have snatched the ball from the air, he would have probably tried to run with it. Wasnt Reggie Brown supposed to be T.O. replacement? I've been watching ESPN the past two days to see if the analysts will eat their words and realize the Eagles need T.O. and could have won last night and last week with him. Remember the T.O. interview(the Brett Favre one) and he said something about McNabb swinging the momentum when he throws INTS? hmm....
P.S. - I salute the Eagle organization for keeping their pride and suspending T.O. Now they have all their fans pissed at them because their season is gone.

^^^ Sad but true
Mcnabb failed to pass the entrance exam at my high school.... he wound up going to our hated rival Mt. Carmel HS because they accepted anyone... i think he got like a 30 on his entrance exam or something. I remember it was ridiculously low.
