MONTREAL -1 +127
Montreal is one of the top 5 teams in this league, and Tampa Bay seems to be lacking the magic they had when they won the cup. I believe the lightning to be a strong team, but they seem to be still getting over their cup hangovers.
NEW JERSEY -1 100
Devils have better special teams than the islanders, and the devils are doing well at home, while the islanders suck on the road.
MINNESOTA -1 +108
I really like minnesota because they're one of those teams that never under-estimates their opponents. The wild are also doing very well at home, and the coyotes are stinking on the road, except for that 4-1 win in detroit. Coyotes are also playing 3rd game in 4 days, but I wouldn't put too much importance on that because of my next pick.
EDMONTON -1 +251
The Oilers love winning against the odds, and Nashville is really quite over-rated. I think that the only reason Nashville is favoured is because the oilers were shut out last night, but really, getting shut out doesnt' take much work, and the oilers should be well rested :P
COLORADO -1½ +170
San Jose is really good at beating the weaker teams, but Colorado is really hot right now, and they've won some tough games. They will be looking to improve their record because they don't deserve to be ranked 11th in the Western.
I'm much more comfortable using -1 instead of -1.5, nothing worse than seeing your pick win, but since they win by only 1 goal you lose money. And yes, I've double checked to see that I actually confirmed my bets this time. Not winning those 5.3 units I thought I had won was pretty hard to swallow.
