Purdue, my favorite 0-7-1 vs the spread team, is back home again this week as a small 4.5 point dog. But I don't see them turning things around this week.
Except for the embarrassment against Northwestern, Michigan St has been very competitive this season and are making their push for a bowl game, needing wins against Purdue and Minnesota to reach that goal. With last week's loss at Penn State, Purdue's hopes for post season play are now officially over.
I don't expect Purdue to come out with their heads down and get blown out, but Purdue will lose the game and the spread is small in a game with a large total of 63 meaning the spread is unlikely to come into play. If the game was at Michigan St. the spread would be 12, so consider 4.5 a gift.
Michigan St. will be focused since they're on the road and teams don't take road games lightly the way they might at home vs bad opponents. As always a glut of turnovers at the wrong time can change the outcome of the game but that could happen to either team, so you never know till it's over but I'll take my chances with Michigan St. -4.5.
Purdue this season for me: 3-1-1
