Horfin's Monday Nighter: A Preview of the Superbowl

Before the Season started I prognosticated that the Superbowl would bee Colts defeating the Rams.

Tonight we have a preview of the Superbowl (that probably won't happen).

This line is way out of wack: COlts -13.5

As far as I'm concerned the Rams aren't a 0-5 team or a 1-4 team or even a 2-3 team (even though that is their record).

The 13.5 points is not justified.

The colts are averaging allowing 6 point something points per game, however they have played: Cleveland, Baltimore, Jacksonville, Tennessee and San Fransisco.

Correct me if I am wrong but Jax is the only team with a winning record and in that game they only won by 7.

On the flip side you have the Rams which seem to have everything going against them: (1) 2-3 record; (2) Lost to San Fran; (3) Barely beat Arizona; (4) Lost at home to Seattle; (5) got manhandled by NY Giants; (5) Their WR are down; (6) their Running game has not started; (7) their coach is out; (8) they Have allowed 27, 44, and 37 the last three games; and the list goes on and on.

However, Indy was favored by 14 vs. San Fran last game on the road, this line eventually grew to 17. Does that mean that odds makers have S.F. and STL on the same level? I don't think so. Even though SF beat STL in week 1, that was an emotionally charged game wherein SF was playing for the recently deceased O-Lineman.

Five games have gone by and the Colts supposedly have the best defense in the league. I think that Defense gets tested tonight by the Rams. If the COlts cover this game they deserve all the respect they are getting, but in the NFL a Class A team versus a .500 team VERY seldom deserves a 13.5 line. The defense of the Colts will get burned and I may play a unit on the Moneyline for the Rams if I can find one.

Taking the Rams +13.5 (-105) ***3.5 Units***

Mark my words: NO PLAY ON THE TOTAL. I cap the damn games right and I get burned on these f*ing totals. If I come back in here and post a total I deserve to lose all my plays.

Why don't you make a side play on the totals then? It won't affect your already-made plays so even if you lose it you don't lose anything else.

I don't completely disagree with the teaser but who knows, a 44-21 Colts final wouldn't surprise me one bit. Why not tease the Colts -7 and the OV 44.5? Heck, why not go both ways?

I think the Rams will score more points than most opponents do against this defense, but nowhere near enough to win the game. I like the Colts to get a statement win on national TV and establish once and for all that they are the best team in the NFL right now.

The idea isn't to cover ever possibility it is to win as much money as possible.

I asked you yesterday in your own thread not to post locks ("Best your kids" is the same as a lock. Why? because people will ride your ass and you will get into an argument and then people will get banned......exactly what is happening now.)

The only reason I deserve to lose is because I shouldn't add plays wherein I am not confident in.

I think the Rams are one of the worst teams in football, all things considered.

13.5 is too much to lay though. Just too many weird things can happen....but IMO this is a complete mismatch.

I would need Rams +24 to take them tonight...and I ain't shittin ya, lol....but I hope I am WRONG for your sake and everyone else on the Rams.

Oh you're also a mod lol. Chill out a bit nobody's here to create trouble. People can ride my ass all they want. It's not they're paying me to pick or I've become rich betting on football. I just like to add spice to my pick.

As for where an 'argument' is concerned, too strong of a word. I rather refer to it as a 'debate'.

And ozz, it is a great feeling to have just one game remainning to complete a major parlay, especially if that game is an easy one, like sitting on a cloud. I should do that more often, parlay multiple games on Saturday and Sunday + Monday night.

It was incredible when I was ONE play (Boise-St vs Louisville OVER) away from winning $5000 after over-coming two miracle finishes. The best Christmas ever! I think 7 days seperated that last play and the previous.
