YTD: 0-2 -2.35 units

Screwed by 3rd period shutouts two nights in a row....

Going to try a side tonight:

Washington ML +115
Yes, I am aware Washington is one of the worst teams in the NHL.... but there are a couple of reasons i like this play tonight.... The Caps are 1-0 and don't "know" that they suck.... it's early in the season, and they should play very fired up.... speaking of which, anyone that is familiar with Caps hockey would have noticed a huge difference on opening night... the Caps were playing with a LOT of emotion and heart.... what the Caps lack in talent might be made up for with heart, at least the first 5 or 6 games.... The crowd was loud, and the stadium was relatively full, considering the NHL is coming off a strike season. And you could tell the players were feeding off the home crowd..... From the Thrashers side.... their best player Kolvachuk is no where to be found, and their starting goalie is injured.... I dont know much about the Thrashers goalies, but a rookie was starting for them, so i can't imagine the backups are overly good.

Actually thinking about making the same play. Dunham (ex Ranger) is in net tonight with "the kid" on IR. Lehtonen was supposed to be the Thrashers saving grace in net this season but Hartley wasn't too please with his off season preperation. He started with a groin injury and Hartley is quoted as saying it was his own fault for not doing the conditioning required but he started in net anyway. Lasted one whole period.(injury is not the same one as before). Atlanta gossip has GM Waddell in New York again today to keep Kovalchuk from going back to Russia but I think he's about to go back to the mother country so that has to play on the minds of the rest of the team.
Washington may take advantage of the situation but not sure it's a play for me yet.
