Up and down rollercoaster season in MLB for the wildman...At least I have all my records in tact so that next season I can take apart the plays I played and learn from the mistakes that were made.

The Post-Season is a new season in MLB and it always is.

Will the season head to head series play any part in how these teams play in the post-season? You betcha!! Bullpens, bench strength, health of the starters, coaching trends and strategies and all will be tested right out of the box.

GLTA

Series Price plays:

Braves -105 (1 unit) Braves bullpen scares me, but the moxy of their young players and both Jones boys playing gives me a feeling that they can stretch out the Astros in 5 games.

White Sox +125 (1 unit) Bullpen, starting pitching the name of the game vs a hot and cold offensive club.

Angels +125 (1 unit) Again, bullpen, starting pitching vs hot and cold offensive club.

Tuesday, Oct 4

Over 7 1/2 Pads/Cards (1 unit)
White Sox -105 (1 unit)
Angels -125 (1 unit)

Adding:

Angels +195 w/Washburn vs Chacon (1 unit) Washburn on the road has been much better than at home and Chacon in pressure situation at home...Good chance of rain once again as well. Angels know that have at least one game at home if they don't finish this series today, which I feel they will of course. Pitching wins championships and so does execution!!

Tonight's play a sentimental play on the travelling Wilbury's minus rock legends, George Harrison and Roy Orbison.....

Oops, wrong story here folks...hehehe..

Too many White Sox backers tonight and I can't blame them however live dog plays don't come too often especially with the inflated lines.

Paul Byrd for the Angels is a road warrior and has enough left tonight to keep them in close. I like their bullpen, the Angels that is, even as much as it was used last night. White Sox look for opportunities to score instead of just coming out balls to the wall. The White Sox did manufacture runs vs the Red Sox rather handily, however the Red Sox pitching staff sucks as did the Yankees and Braves' bullpen, yadda yadda. The Angels will bring it to the White Sox just as they did during the year even when they didn't have Vlad for a few games. Angels won the series 6-4 this year and that trend should continue. I like their coach as well and the have that "rally Monkey"...

1-1 on the night as I visited the RBC center to watch some puck action on Wednesday, then I get home to see Sportscenter and how the umps really screwed up a nice potential extra inning affair by missing a call on a 3rd strike..ARGH!!!

Be back later today with my Thursday play...Series in St Louie with the Stros, 8 games played, all 8 games won by the home team in this series going back to last year. Will it continue? Don't bet on it...Mulder, Marquis and Morris, the 3 Musketeers? Give me a break, they'll get lit by the bats of the Stros...

Well today's Thursday and game 2 of the NLCS....All 8 of last 8 games won by the home team...The streak stops here.

Astros w/Ossie-walt +130 (2 units) vs Mulder

Isringhausen came in last night and he's not that great pitching 2 consecutive days this year, although he's had plenty of saves, he's also given up an era over 9 runs per game in back to back games he finishes...Mulder is usually money in the post-season however he's not 100% as he's been in the past with the A's and I can see the Astros bats getting to him by the 4th or 5th inning in this tilt. Haven't gotten the official plate umpire yet for today, however I see Ossie-walt coming thru with his club down 0-1 thus far in this series...Pitching and defense over offense any day and it proved correct thus far in the post-season.

Under 7 1/2 (1 unit)

Agree with you on the Stros tonight as much as I hate to admit it against my Cards. Issi has been shaky for about a month now and the cards bullpen is not what it was over the course of the year without Reyes. I can see Mulder going out early too. Will be rooting for the Cards but have my money on the Stros.

Tonight's game 5 between the Astros & Cards.

Will LaRussa keep his bitching about the umpiring or will the Cards come out and actually try and score some runs? The Astros have been pitiful with men in scoring position and today they have a chance to wrap up this series at home.

Should the Astros win this evening, I can see Rocket finally getting his world series ring which would climax a stellar career and I know his momma would be proud of him.

Well the Astros have the best out of 2 to wrap up this thing or will they blow it like the Yankees did to the RedSox last year, even though it was just 3-1 instead of 3-0 like the Yankees had on the Sox last year!!!

Ossie has been money after team losses and 3-0 his last 3 starts. Mulder in a final series game while with the A's wasn't too great. Mulder is 1-1 last 3 starts with a 1.02 era.

The Stros bats must get to Mulder early in this tilt and I don't think Fat Albert is going to get too many fat pitches in this game.

Astros +145 (3 units) Oswalt & Mulder both must go or no action

I took the Astros +110 for (2 units) to win the World Series. Wild card teams have been hot and none hotter in the 2nd half of the year and since May but the Houston Astros.

Both teams have 3 very good starters and can go deep to #4 or #5 starters if they have too. More veteran leadership having been there before for the Astros w/Clemens on the roster as well as Scrap Iron Garner who played in a few World Series himself.

I think both matchups defensively and offensively are about the same, leadoff hitter Podsednik has more speed, however he's done absolutely nothing in the post-season. The Astros have the Killer B's and will more than likely use Bags as a pinch-hitter off the bench rather than as a DH, however he said he will lobby for it and I'm sure Phil will try him at least once as the DH if he can.

Pettitte has been there as well and he usually pitches well against the Palehose as does Roger.

Clemens in game one is 10-3 lifetime ats record wise vs the Chi-Sox and 7 of the 10 games have gone under the total, average total being 8 1/2 runs though.

I like Houston's depth in the bullpen as well and I'll take Lidge over Hermanson anyday!!

AJ Perzinski has an edge as the receiver in this series, however Ausmus won't do any bone headed plays like the Angels catchers did in the ALCS.

0-2, -2 units thus far in the World Series..Time for the Wild Card team to take 3 at home!!!!

Game 3

Astros -175 (5 units) both Oswalt & Garland...Well a few folks wanted a synopsis why I'm taking Houston tonight...A few facts..Oswalt after a team loss is money more than naught...Garland gets a chance to bat in this contest unless he gets shelled out of the game in the bottom of the first. This crowd in Houston, with or without the 'roof' open or closed, who the hell cares? Will be noiser than a Rolling Stones concert held inside of the Hard Rock Cafe! DOH!! This line was made huge due to the fact of how Oswalt pitches at home and after a team loss. It's an overpriced line, however Vegas has to have action on both sides of the ball, hence the -170 to -185 line that is out there.

Over 7 (2 units)..why? Houston will get to Garland before the 3rd inning and they will hit him hard. No DH in this game and the fact that the home plate umpire will be making every pitch count, I see the bullpen getting involved earlier than in the Angels series when Garland was pitching in Anaheim. Astros should win this one 6-3...
