6-4 last week, -.3 units...Early week NCAA games drive folks nuts as evidenced by the number of selections already from the UC Forum. Can only remember Minnesota, Oregon, Wazzoo State & Okie State covering as favorites thus far on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU televised games thus far on weeknights. Dogs covering, TCU, Army, Tennessee, E.Mich, Vandy, Central Flo, Central Mich, Arizona, Ole Miss, Ohio U. Pretty much a dog ruled cover so far.

Tonight's game for me blows...too many coin tosses. One bit of trend info I found is that Toledo is 0-3 travelling to the west coast ATS. Fresno covering double digits is horrendous as well, 0-10 on televised games laying more than 9 1/2.

Here's my plays for this week, note that 5 unit plays are 1-2 thus far..Time to catch fire!!

Wednesday, 9-28

Cincinnati +11 (1 unit) Bearcats in-state game vs Miami Oh!

Thursday, 9-29

Air Force +4 (1 unit) Flyboys back door covered Utah last week and CSU doesn't stop the run very well, evidenced by last years' humiliating loss to AF 47-17.

Friday, 9-30

Pitt pk (3 units) Pitt opened a pick, Rutgers then a favorite at -1 and back to pickem. Something is fishy about this game. Pitt won this game outright 41-17 last year at home. Rutgers has had how many quality wins vs anyone in the top 40? Pitt is 19-3 straight up vs Rutgers. Palko is a hot n cold QB. Pitt loss at Nebraska to a very stingy defensive club 7-6 and missed a game winning fg. They got embarassed by the Ohio Bobcats on ESPN. I think that Dave will have his boys finally looking for a way to win the way he wants. Pitt 27 Rutgers 20

Saturday, 10-1

Oklahoma State +4 (3 units) Colorado is tough on carpet, however, they can't be that much improved after getting beaten at home 42-14 last year to this same Okie State club that has a quality defense, something that Miami-Fla showed the Buffs. I feel the Buffs will still be hungover from last Saturday's game and Okie State in a dog role is just wrong! Okie State 42 Colorado21

Nebraska -3 (2 units, bought 1/2 pt -120) Cornhusker defense should be the difference in this tilt. ISU looked horrible vs Army last week. If Callahan has half a brain (going to the Superbowl has to mean some accomplishment in his life career), I'm sure he studied the game filmw over and over from the Army and with their loss at Ames last year, I'm sure Bill will have the BIG RED seeing RED all week and the offense should open up finally with midget Ross gaining close to 200 yrds vs the Cyclone poorous defensive line. Huskers 42 ISU 10

Over 37 ISU/Nebraska (4 units)

Over 51 1/2 UNLV/Wyoming (2 units) Series average close to 77 pts, this game last year in OT won by Wyoming 53-45. Mile high air should get to the Rebs in the 2nd half.

Utah +3 1/2 (4 units) This line hit me like a cream pie in the face when it came out with UNC -3. Utes in a dog role vs a club that played an intra-state rivalry game and laid it all out on the line last week coming home to a club that is just starting to gel under the young QB of the Utes. The Utes also do play defense, something that Ga Tech & Wisky gave UNC fits with. Utah wins straight up 28-17.

Central Michigan +11 (1 unit) This line is off by at least 4 pts and I'm counting on CMU to prove it right. CMU 24 Akron 21

South Carolina +13 (2 units)Again back Steve'y Superiors club that will show Auburn how much offense they're desperately missing this year. South Carolina played horribly vs Bama and they should be pumped up here on the road as a DD dog. Visitor in series is 2-0 and Auburn 2-10 before a bye week. Auburn 28 South Carolina 20?

Arkansas State -1 (5 units, bought 1/2 -120) ASU humiliated Flo Int'l last weekend while ULM went to Florida and beat Flo Atlantic straight up. Last year ULM lost 28-21 in Jonesboro and ASU is much improved over last year's performance. Visitor also 4-0 last 4 in series. ASU 35 ULM 27.

Under 70 1/2 Boise/Hawaii (1 unit) Boise destroyed Hawaii on the mainland 69-3 and this series has averaged over 78 ppg. USC ran all over Hawaii however I doubt BSU is capable of doing the same thing vs Hawaii as USC is the class of football right now. Hawaii shut out an Idaho club that actually put points on the board vs Wazoo and U Wash and UNLV. For Hawaii to shut out Idaho on the mainland means that, (A.) Hawaii found a defense or (B.) Idaho left their offense in the cheerleaders' locker room! Boise 35 Hawaii 31.

Thanks zen and Dead...

Dead, yep, I think Idaho lost their offense...There were some interesting stats from the Hawaii game besides the shutout.

rushing yrds allowed 41
average yrds per carry 2.0
passing yrds allowed 112
passing yrds per completion 4.5

I know the Spuds are horrible, however they did put up points vs the teams I had aforementioned in Wazoo and Boise on the road scares me this year as much as they did last year. June Jones and Jerry Glanville work as a team, believe it or not and Jerry is in charge of the Defense!! I'm sure he has some tricks up his sleeves and his black attire!! hehehe...

GL with your play on Boise. I just like the under knowing there is a tropical depression in that area, the wind is howling this time of year in Hah-vye-ee and Hawaii now has a couple of games under it's belt in a revenge situation...

Also saw the Arkie State line moved to -3....Air Force dropped from a 5 1/2 pt doggie to a 3 pt doggie.....and Utah is now +2.....woah!!

Gl WildBIll.....Be careful with the South Carolina pick, QB Blake Mitchell is probably not going to play due to high ankle sprain he suffered aginast Troy last weekend, according to Steve Spurrier.

With ya on other picks....

Thanks for the info Pirate, already noted on my cheatsheets about Mitchell from last game...I like the run defense of USC vs Auburn and Cox is still a bit gimpy for AU too...Two td's is a lot to give Spurrier on the road. I compared AU to Georgia and the Dawgs hands down are better this year than AU, thus a light play on USC.

I'm with ya TripleH on Cincy...Line has been bought all the way down and still being bought down. Just feel Cincy is a bit better than Central Mich who beat M-O at home. I don't think Kent is even close to how good Cincy is even if M-O is at home, just feel it's a dog type of night and week for college foots.

Thanks birds & Eagles...Hope the Eagles don't have to use their kicking game too much Sunday in KC..I'll be there after going to Iowa State and Nebraska game on Saturday.

GL to you too JoePa. I like the Flyboys and Chips, not strong plays for me, but plays none the least...NAIL the MAN!!

Later ya'll!! And btw, good luck on your plays as well and may they all be "W's"!!
