I have been betting football games last 15 years...i have used used a local guy up until this year...and all bets were -110...but using online books i see games -120 ,-115...i just dont understand why juicing the FB games if you are getting action on one side why not move game up a half point....may be a dumb question but it has been bugging me?

when the books feel good about a line posted, they will hold it knowing that the action coming in, is on the wrong side. In turn they juice it more and more, just in case it is a bad call on their part, meaning they have to pay out less if their bet loses. Look at tonights game. books are showing kc +3 -130, that shows me that the books are inviting the kc bettors, not moving the line (because they feel den will cover) and pushing up the juice (due to the heavy action) just in case it backfires on them, meaning, they pay out less! yet there are other books that will move, just to get even action.... :beer2:

Books have a cash limit for what it takes to move the line a half point or a full point or whatever, so they'll just move the juice if it hasn't reached the limit yet but there is uneven action.

For this argument let's assume the limit to move the line 0.5 of a point is $10,000. Let's sake $2,000 is bet on side A and $5,000 is bet on side B. The $10k limit isn't reached yet, but the action is uneven so the juice for side B gets raised to try and even out the action without moving the line.

Locals are much different than reputable sportsbooks.

Funny, I hear you guys talk about locals so much yet where I live Ive never met one or heard of someone using one. Must be something to do with that sports action thing the lottery corp runs, still find it wierd thou
