I am looking for some help about general rules regarding bankroll and sports betting.

Believe it or not, with $1000 you should be betting 20 bucks per game. With 2000 you should be on about $40. If you are fluctuating between 1000 and 2000 you must be betting 100 or more per game and you're playing with fire in my opinion, if that's the case. One bad streak and your bankroll is gone.

Forgot about that part, but should add that if you are paying for picks there is almost NO WAY to make a profit over time. That will eventually even out to paying huge juice on every play unless the difference in their cost and your play is massive.
