I might have a couple of more in the morning. Best of luck to everyone!!!!
UEFA Cup
5* AZ Alkmaar (Holland) (AH -1/2) (-178) Over Samara Krylya Sovetov (Russia) - 10:00 AM
For starters this match is blocked at alot of European bookmakers. Reasoning not really sure but usually mean heavy, heavy action on one of the teams. If you can place a wager on this match do it now as the line will surely move by gametime. AZ is on cruise control so far this season. Through 4 league games they've outscored there opponents 17-1. AZ made it alway to the semifinals of last years UEFA cup losing out to Sporting Lisbon of Portugal on away goals. AZ is a title contender in Holland and one of the premier teams in the UEFA Cup. Krylya is in crisis in league play. With the exception of there two wins against Bate from Belarus in the earlier round Krylya has not won a league game in there last 11 tries which includes only 4 draws. Krylya is expected to miss a couple of there players for this match. My worries is the long travel from Holland to Russia, the fact that a draw is good for AZ as they would take care of business at home and overall motivation. But on talent AZ should dominate this game on the road. In the end AZ should continue there outstanding play.
1* Stade Rennes (France) (AH -1/2) (+125) Over CA Osasuna (Spain) - 1:00 PM
I bet this game on the sole fact that Osasuna usually doesn't play well on the road. Rennes is a weird team they score alot and they concede alot as well. Osasuna has little form as they are only two games into the season. With Osasuna not a great road team and Frei and Hadji leading the charge for Rennes I feel they'll be able to squeek out the win here at home.
1* FC Basel (Switzerland) (AH -1/2) (-385) Over Siroki Brijeg (Bosnia & Herzegovina) - 1:30 PM
Like usual Basel is leading the Swiss league as they are currently 55-1-2 and have played extremely well. Basel usually finds good success in European games. At home against a much weaker team I feel they should cruise in a match like this. Siroki lost 3-1 to Teuta earlier in the UEFA Cup on the road and that team is not nearly close in talent to Basel. Basel should win this by a couple of goals.
1* Cork City (Ireland) (AH +1/2) (+270) Over Slavia Prague (Czech Republic) - 2:00 PM
If you have a book that offers a +1 goal or +1 1/2 goals take that offer. Right now I can only get the +1/2 goal at an amazing price and I'll surely take the risk here. Cork City are the leaders of the Irish league and have only dropped 2 games all season and drawn 5. In Cup play they managed to knock out Djurgardens of Sweden and Ekranas of Lithuania, two solid accomplishments for this team. Cork will be w/o there head coach as he's fallen ill just recently. They do have a couple of slight knocks but they've dealt with them in the past. Slavia has struggled out the gate of the Czech league. Through 5 games Slavia has won just once, lost once and drawn 3 times. At this price I'm more then willing to take the risk on Cork that they can come up with a draw. Cork is fully capable of this. They've been preparing in Prague for the last few days and I see no reason why they can't give Slavia a battle.
1* RC Lens (France) (AH -1/2) (-324) Over Groclin Dyskobolia (Poland) - 2:00 PM
Lens has already disposed of the 2nd place team from Poland this season Lech Poznan in the Intertoto Cup. Lens has already proven there worth in Europe this season as they are one of the teams to advance from the Intertoto Cup. In that tournament they disposed of Lech Poznan (Poland), NK Varteks (Croatia), Wolfsburg (Germany) and Cluj (Romania). In that competition they did not lose a single home game and were impressive in every one of those wins. In league play Lens has gotten off to a solid start sitting in 3rd place. Groclin is in some dissaray this season. They are clearly in a rebuilding mode this season. Right now they are in the middle of the table in the Polish league and really haven't had any solid results lately. This will be a tough match for what is a young team in Groclin. Lens should take care of business at home.
1* Galatasaray (Turkey) (AH -1/2) (-140) Over Tromso IL (Norway) - 2:00 PM
Biggest worry should be the cold and wet weather in Norway. Tromso's focus is clearly on avoiding relegation in league play as they currently sit in 13th place in a 14 team league. Galatasaray will be w/o a few players for this game but they clearly have the capable backups and should win this match. Galatasaray is in solid form as they've won 4 out of 5 league games with one being a draw. Price is just excellent and it's basically a must bet. How Tromso got to this point is pretty lucky as Esbjerg of Denmark clearly did not play well versus them in the earlier round. Tromso advanced on penalty kicks. That will not happen here as Galatasaray will advance 100%. Weather is a factor but I expect that Galatasaray's experience should win out.
1* Bolton Wanderers (England) (AH -1/2) (-300) Over PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv (Bulgaria) - 3:15 PM
Few reasons for this bet. For starters Lokomotiv's best player is out for this game and he accounts for roughly 50% of there team's offense. Just this past week I believe the President of Lokomotiv's team was murdered. The overall morale of this team is quite low. Plus on top of that they've struggled in there league games as they are just 2-1-1 and were said to be extremely lucky to win there last game after a horrible call by a ref that awarded them an undeserved penalty. Bolton is excited for this game. This is Bolton's first ever European match and the team is expected to perform admirably in front of there own home crowd. Head Coach Sam Allardyce is expected to rest there fowards for this game but that doesn't really mean they will be weaker as Jared Borgetti (Mexico's all time leading scorer) and Hidetoshi Nakata will feature. Both are excellent strikers and are superb fill-ins. Through 5 league games Bolton is currently in 5th place and have some solid form heading into this game. With all the expectations for Bolton I can envision a letdown but there talent and the morale of Lokomotiv should help Bolton prevail in the end.
Good Luck to All!!!!
