Oh a new Saturday and more of The Don's picks, so lets get started:

2 Units

Oklahoma vs Tulsa Over 49.5

Usually, this is an in-state matchup that doesn't generate much attention outside of Oklahoma. But following the stunning defeat to TCU, the nation will be watching to see how the Sooners rebound. Tulsa, which is picked to finish fourth in the West Division of Conference USA, fell 41-10 at Minnesota in its opener on Sept. 1. RB Uril Parrish is a fun rusher to watch at 5-9 and now the target of an angry OU defense.

Oklahoma has not dropped back-to-back regular season games since 1999 (Notre Dame and Texas), and they haven't been lost consecutive games in Norman since 1988 (California and Colorado)

Like the Sooners, Tulsa is coming off a disappointing opening week loss. The Golden Hurricane, who are in their first season as members of Conference USA, dropped a 41-10 loss to Minnesota at Skelly Stadium last Thursday (9/1). Overall, Tulsa returns 14 starters from last year's 4-8 team.

I see the scre being OK 45 Tul 12

2 Units

LSU +1.5

After Hurricane Katrina postponed the LSU-North Texas game originally scheduled for Sept. 3, this is the long-awaited season opener for LSU. The emotions will run high in light of everything that has happened over the past two weeks, so the Tigers will need to keep their heads on straight to handle the mood and the top-notch Sun Devils.

SCOUTING THE OFFENSE

With 10 returning starters and quality depth and talent at both running back and receiver, the pressure falls on QBs JaMarcus Russell and Matt Flynn to move past last year's inconsistency and push this offense over the top.

SCOUTING THE DEFENSE
In addition to seven returning starters and several talented experienced reserves from the 2004 team, the Tigers should be one of the SEC's best defenses. The big keys remain Ronnie Prude and Chevis Jackson at cornerback, Cameron Vaughn moving from outside linebacker to the middle and whoever replaces Marcus Spears at defensive end. Texas transfer Chase Pittman will get the first shot at Spears' old job in the opener.

LSU wins by 10

1 Unit

Nebraska -6.5 (Nebraska bounces back to win by 17)
Stanford -3 (Navy gives Stanford fits with the run, but Stanford wins by 7)
South Carolina +18.5 (Georgia wins this game, but wins by 17)
